Two weeks passed, and not once had Minghao spoken to Junhui since they parted ways out of the storage cupboard.
Junhui worried he'd scared the poor guy off.
But Minghao?
He was simply chronically embarrassed.
To think that the popular guy had to physically drag him away from a group of girls, after he'd pretended to have a crush on him... and then everything else that had gone down. Minghao would've preferred if he never had to show his face to Junhui ever again.
The girls however, were certainly trying their hardest to ensure it happened again.
"I wanna see the look on Junhui's face when this guy confesses to him. I wanna see him laugh in his face!"
He's gay.
The boy wanted to scream at them in frustration, but realized all too quickly exactly what the elder boy had been complaining about - those girls would never hear of their precious, popular, pretty-boy being a homosexual.
Instead of accepting the facts that Junhui had already risked himself by telling them, they all chose to feign ignorance and turn a blind eye.
Minghao didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
It was amazing really, how some people could get bullied relentlessly throughout their entire childhood, simply for liking who they liked. And yet others could shout it to the heavens and be ignored, simply because of a difference in social status.
The boy struggled to understand what exactly could be so different about the two of them, aside from physical attractiveness.
And yet... those girls had found him cute when they first met him? What was it about him that suddenly made him unlikeable, simply because he was unattainable?
He didn't understand the logic behind it at all; frankly because there was no logical explanation behind their flimsy and fickle opinions.
All of these thoughts plagued his mind each day, as he walked with his head down. Strolling through the school entrance he was slowly becoming accustomed to, a sharp force suddenly pulled him backward.
Holding one of the straps of his bag was somebody he'd never seen before.
Oh. It's starting. At least I had two weeks... that's my longest streak.
"Where do you think you're going, huh?"
"Can I... help you?" The boy quizzed the stranger, wondering to himself what about him had possibly offended this random student.
"Yeah, stay away from my friend. He doesn't want you."
"What makes you think I want him?"
Though he knew it was never a smart move, Minghao couldn't help but be sarcastic even when he knew he was due to be pulverized.
"Maybe the fact that you told the whole school you had a crush on him." The student sneered, meanwhile the boy in his clutches read the name on their badge.
