Aether...?

   Lumine follows the path calmly, she was finally down with her mission, she could finally reunite with Aether and they could leave this damned world. The princess of the Abyss had been completely unaware of what happened along her brother's journey, she had been too focused on avenging Khaenri'ah and its people, her people. However, she may have lost to that damned Dainslief, justice had come one way or the other and Lumine had been exposed to the truth about the curse, that by trying to help the Khaenri'ans, she was harming the Abyss and her people.

   Lumine smiles, a soft hum resonating from her as she walks, she knew he'd be at Windrise, that was where he met with Venti whenever he would return to Mondstat during his quest unless Venti went to Aether himself, which he indeed did often. When the large tree came into sight, she picked up her pace a little bit, her walk turning into a slight jog, when the figure on the root of the tree became visible, she slowed to a walk again, a large smile adorning her face. A sudden look of confusion on her when she saw her brother alone, no Venti, no Paimon. Just Aether...playing Venti's lyre?

   Lumine shakily took a few paces forward, eyes examining the Aether in front of her. "No, oh archons, no." Tears welled in Lumine's eyes as her brain processed Aether's features, the blue symbol on his abdomen, his long blonde braid and the tips of his bangs were a bright aqua color. "I apologize Lumine, Princess of the Abyss... Aether... is gone, you're too late." Lumine's tears fell quickly as she sobbed, collapsing onto her knees where she stood. Barbatos sighs in remorse, tears slipping from his aqua orbs, another giveaway that he truly was not Aether. He slid off the root of the large tree, a frown playing on his -Aether's- features. 

   Barbatos sat next to the grieving female. "I'm sorry, Celestia took him, the war between Teyvat and the Abyss had worn him down, he never rested between the two... I-i couldn't save him, I promise I tried." Lumine nodded her head as she sobbed in grief. throwing her arms around Venti, who returned the gesture. "I loved him, you know I tried my best, I'm sorry I couldn't save him."
