An Alternative

The Beginning

Gibbs was heading home from Stillwayer when he saw a little boy on the side of the road asking for a ride. He pulled over and rolled down the window as he asked:
-Where are you going?
-Washington sir - the boy answered
-Do you want a ride?
- If you don't mind- he said hopping Gibbs would take him
- I don't, hop in!-
The young boy got in the car a little aprehensive. After a while gibbs asked:
-So what's your name, boy?
-I'm Anthony Dinozzo- the boy said
-Ok, I'm Jethro. And where are your parents?
- My mother died last year and my father is a drunk so I ran away.
-Sorry to hear that, do you have any ant or uncle you can stay with?
-No. - he answered quickly - I' ll catch a bus to somewhere
-Ok... - Gibs was sorry for him and he couldn't leave him out on the streets. And it was too late to drop in an orfanate so he asked:
-Would you like to stay in place my for a the night? You can't be all alone on the street at night. And also you wont find any place to sleep this late!...
Anthony was a little insure about what to do, but he didn't want to sleep in the streets so:
-I guess I could stay this night, since it's soo late.
-Good because you didn't had another choice!- gibbs said pretty secure of himself
The boy looked at him as he said that. -What?! Did you tought that I was going to drop you at some bus station, anthony?
- Humm...don't know and you call me Tony.
-Ok, Tony. Now sit tight!
- Sure, but first I've got to ask something
- Go ahead boy!
-Why would you give me a ride? And are you some kind of police officer?!
- First, why wouldn't I help you and second, how do do you know that?!- Gibbs asked puzzled
-Did you tought I would get in some stranger's car without knowing who was driving it??! Besides I saw the badge and parking sticker on the window.
Gibbs was impresed with the boy and gave in a small smile of admiration.
After a while, Gibbs affirmed
- So I live a couple of blocks from here with my daughter.
- You have a daughter?- Tony said surprised
- Yes, her name is Kelly.
