Brittana in NYC

Broadway

     Rehearsals for Broadway had started. Brittany woke up early everyday and didn't come home until late in the evening. In order to keep up on her college classes, she did all her school work on the weekends or when she had time in the evening. It was only the first week of this but Santana was already missing Brittany.

Santana made Brittany's favorite dinner and was sitting at the table waiting for her to come home. After and hour of waiting Santana gave up and turned on the TV. Eventually Brittany came home and thanked Santana for dinner. She quickly ate without saying much and then sat down on the couch and started working on some homework. Santana tried to ask Brittany how her day was, but she could see Brittany was focusing on her work. She figured they could talk once Brittany got some of it done. The next time Santana looked over Brittany was asleep.

This is how things went everyday. Brittany would come home exhausted, she would quickly eat, shower, and then either crash or work on school work. Weekends were no different. Brittany had a lot of work to do and had many classes she had to go in person for. Her teachers were going above and beyond to let her come in on weekends. 

Santana accepted that this is how things would be for awhile and tried to spend time with Brittany whenever she had a few minutes free. They went from seeing each other everyday of high school, to living together, to now barely speaking. 

Luckily, Brittany only had one class on Saturday so Santana planned a surprise dinner date for them. She cooked and had set the table with candles. Santana's phone chimed and it was Brittany. Brittany texted she would be home late because some of her Juilliard friends were going out tonight and asked her to join them. Santana really didn't want to fight with Brittany so she simply said 'thanks for letting me know and have fun.' Santana couldn't help but feel hurt. Brittany and her have spent so little time together recently and when they would finally have an evening to themselves, Brittany chose to hang out with her friends. 

Santana decided she wasn't going to let all this food go to waste. She tried calling Kurt and Blaine but they both were busy. She decided to call Rachel but she didn't pick up. She was a little defeated so she just called Quinn so she could have someone to talk to. Quinn and her talked for a little bit but Quinn was in a bad mood so Santana found an excuse to hang up. When she hung up she saw an incoming call from Rachel. Santana asked Rachel to come over and hang out.

By the time Rachel arrived, Santana's mood had only gotten worse. Rachel didn't seem in the best mood either. They reheated the food and started to talk. It didn't take long before Santana made a rude comment.

"Santana honesty, I can't take this right now so I think it's better if I go." Rachel said seriously.

"No Rachel please stay. I'm sorry I promise I won't make any more snarky comments the rest of the night."

"Are you sick or something Santana, because I can't believe you just apologized." 

"I'm fine, but clearly you sick or something because you haven't mentioned broadway once since you got here."

"Well I got into a fight with someone earlier today but I don't want to get into it. What about you?"

"I'm also a little upset but I don't want to get into it either. I don't feel like being alone so I'll put up with your annoyingness."

"What do you say we agreed to not ask each other any questions and just try and make the most of tonight." Rachel suggested.

"That works for me." Santana replied.

They decided to watch a movie while sharing a bottle of wine. They passed it back and forth until both of them were buzzed. Santana saw a text from Brittany but decided to ignore it. Rachel did the same and ignored the multitude of calls she was getting. Rachel suggested they take shots. Now they were both very drunk. At first they were having a really good time. They were singing and dancing around the living room, but soon they both started crying. They both became hot messes.
