Ethan Lim Yong Que

Ethan Lim Yong Que is a support character in the story Amaze. He was introduced as Crystal's friend from primary school who was tasked to help out with a certain episode's filming before becoming an understudy until book 3.

Background
Performing: Unlike his childhood friend Crystal, Ethan has little performing experience. He never really performed unless he didn't have a choice as he had to perform for a play in Primary 1, 2 and 4 and a song item for their school's mother tongue fortnight on Primary 3. The only time he actually wanted to was in Secondary 2, when he signed up and got into National Day Parade along with Crystal.
Personal life: Ethan's primary school life was considerably smoother than Crystal. He gets good grades and many leadership roles. This continues onto secondary school as he entered Prebysterian Academy through his leadership by being the assistant head prefect.

The only "known" bump he encountered was in Primary 6, when Crystal had a crush on him and she told her fake best friend who told the rest of the class, causing shipping between the duo. Yet, as Crystal didn't behave weirdly near him, he stayed Crystal's friend.

After primary school, they followed each other to the same school but got distant due to being assigned to different form classes. However, they reunited because Ethan chose to  help Crystal when she was a pinch. They made an effort to rebuild their friendship to what it was in primary school ever since that fated reunion.
Personality
Ethan is an energetic, confident and outgoing teenager that can seemingly get along with everyone. He displays a sense of strong responsibility, leadership and kindness, willing to help his friends with anything whenever they're in a pinch.

However, he does display a colder, more insensitive side. He is straightforward to a fault, sometimes being so honest he hurts the feelings of his friends; his actions do the same. This can be seen in his initial reluctance and straightforward ways in pushing Crystal from saying "hi" or spending time with him when she was going through some envy of him.

In the past, it is revealed Ethan doesn't have the same amount of responsibility and drive he does as a teenager. However, he still had the same amount of leadership he did as a teenager. He was more easygoing and easy to amuse but as he became a teenager, he visibly became serious. It was hinted that it could be puberty or the "rite of passage".
Talents
Athletic ability: He plays for his school's table tennis team competitively.
Leadership ability: he is such a great leader he ever held 4 leadership positions at once, with his uniform decorated with badges. In Primary 6, he held the assistant head prefect position and continued to become the student council president in Book 2.
Academic ability: Ethan gets decent grades for all subjects save Chinese. However, his best subject is Math.
