My next class was yearbook 4th period.
To say I wasnt thinking about my little awkward conversation with Billy, would be a terrible lie.
Beacuse I kept thinking to myself, why I was looking at him the way I did.
Sure he probably liked the attention girls gave him in his tight Jean's and his really, really, really killer body.
"Samara" Nancy lightly touches my shoulder.
"Oh hey" I smile.
"So, hows everything coming along?" She asks.
"Pretty good" I reply. "Just trying to decide if I like the tiger paw border on the intro page or the plain colors of hawkins"
"Hmm...I'd say the tiger paw border, it shows school spirit" She laughs. I laugh as well.
She stands there for a moment looking at what I was working on and then back at me.
"So...hey, I wanted to ask But- well actually it's none of my business-
"You want to ask about my brother" I look at her.
"Well yes, but it's only that I just wanted to check in" She says.
"I understand" I say. "Thank you, but I dont even know where he is"
"So he just left, without saying goodbye or anything?" She says lowly, so that no one heres our conversation.
"Yes" I say. "But, I mean he will come when he wants to"
"But- arent you worried?" She says sympathetically.
"Of course I am" I sigh. "But there isnt anything I can do"
"Well I'm always here if you need to talk" She gives me a smile.
"Thank you" I smile back.
"Hey you know, I was going through some things, and I found some of the old pictures of when we all went down to Monroe Lake" She chuckles.
"No way" I laugh. "I rember that trip, and Mike didnt know how to swim but we taught him that summer"
"Yeah, and he thought there were crocodiles in the lake" She laughed.
"That's right!" I laugh.
"Ladies back to business please" Our teacher warns.
"You know we should hang our more Nanc" I say. "We used to be really close in elementary, and it would be cool to catch up"
"Yeah I agree" She says. "That would be great"
I smile and we give each other a small hug.
"Are you going to Tinas halloween party?" She asks. I shake my head as a no.
"She invited me, but I was thinking of going to the movies" I reply.
"By yourself?" She says.
"Yeah why not" I laugh.
"You and Jonathan should really hang out together" She says.
"Byers?" I say. "I do"
"You do?" She says.
"Yeah, I have Chem, English, and World History with him" I say. "Hes very nice"
"Yeah he is" She smiles and looks away. I look at her confused, but shrug it off.
The bell rings and we exit the classroom.
"Mrs. Gillian?" My teacher says.
"Oh yes, Mrs. Wilson" I stay behind and wave bye to Nancy.
