After getting off the very unhelpful call from Tubbo (leave the poor boy alone, he was half asleep), Tommy packed a bag and tried to go to sleep but kept wondering why that guy ran away for no reason. 'Maybe he heard police sirens? But they came much later so that would make no sense. Maybe he felt bad? But he didn't seem to care about the guy he was beating up.' No explanation could make sense to him except one. 'Maybe he recognized me from somewhere.' He did look oddly familiar to Tommy but he still couldn't tell from where. The thought starting making Tommy think about his past.
Tommy was a teen pregnancy which made his father want to get milk REALLY badly and so he did before he was even born. When Tommy was born, his grandparents kicked his mother out because reasons I guess. And so his mother had to juggle having a job and raising a whole human being which made it so she wasn't around very often. His mother would often have her best friend, Phil (c!), take his twins, Techno (c!) and Wilbur, over and babysit Tommy. Tommy didn't like his kids very much, he wasn't very into Greek mythology, murder, or music, but Phil was around so often they started developing a father-son relationship.
Tommy's mother got sick. Like VERY sick. Like hospitalized 24/7 sick. Before she died, she asked Phil to protect him at all costs. And so he did, kind of. He was kind of busy running a gang to make sure a chaotic 5 year old doesn't watch scary cartoons or something so he kind of just made sure he didn't die. He made Wilbur and Techno (who were 12) Promise to not murder Tommy no matter what. Wilbur just promised right away but Techno...Let's just say needed a bit more convincing. He has this weird thing against orphans that no one knows the source of but no one really questions it.
At that age, per their request, Phil was already teaching Techno and Wilbur how to commit petty theft like pickpocketing and shit. When they were 13, Phil brought them to a bank robbery which was cool and they had fun. When they were 16, Phil started teaching them how to stabby stab. Techno picked it up easily because Phil bribed him with fencing lessons so he doesn't murder tommy. When they were 17, they got their first job to stabby stab some random guy and they had...fun...concerningly. Anyways, by the time they were 18, they were full blown gang members and even got tattoos and shit.
While Wilbur and Techno were having fun learning how to rob and stabby stab, Tommy was kind of just chilling in a house, going to school, partially going insane, repeat. He didn't really have anyone to talk to other than Phil sometimes. Tecbno and Wilbur used to try to become friends with him but gave up after a few years. Phil did offer to teach Tommy how to stabby stab but he declined.When he turned 18 and moved out, he didn't have a job or anywhere to live so he went to his best friend, Tubbo's apartment where he lived until he could afford a shitty apartment but he still stays at Tubbo's place like 70% of the time because his apartment is just so shitty.
