[Haha, I'm back! Did you miss me?] The dokkaebi materialised out of thin air just as the system announced the end of the sponsor selection.

[Hey... what an interesting choice. Well, yes. There will be another chance.]

The dokkaebi's crescent moon eyes stayed on Dokja-ssi for a split second, as if curious about his choice, before turning to address the remaining people.

[Now now, everyone has finished the selection. Rest here for a while. I have to go prepare for the next scenario. I'll see you in 10 minutes!]

After muttering these words, the dokkaebi disappeared and I was left to my own thoughts. Blooming... do I make flowers grow faster or something? Ahh... I don't know. The only other thing I was curious about was the attribute: [Guarder of Dreams (???)]. No matter how hard I thought, I couldn't figure out what it did. It does sound like some fancy title given to a knight...

Before I could get too lost in my thoughts, Dokja-ssi spoke up.

"Let's all gather together."

The survivors walked in at his words. Lee Hyunsung reached out his hand first towards Dokja-ssi for a handshake. I had to crane my neck to see his face. Damn, he was tall and well-built, looking stronger than the average human. That's to be expected though, as he did say he was in the army.

"Hello, I am Lee Hyunsung."

"Kim Dokja."

"Nice to meet you...although I don't know if these words suit the situation. As I said earlier, I am a soldier...well, I should say that I was a soldier." Lee Hyunsung scratched his head nervously.

"You can't contact your unit?"

"...Yes."

Gilyoung silently pulled at my jacket hem, brown eyes staring into mine.

I silently chuckled at his cuteness while giving his head a few soft head pats. Ah, my weakness. Cute children. I thought as I continued to observe the two older males conversing.

"Ah, Dokja-ssi." Lee Hyunsung spoke while maintaining eye contact with said man.

"Yes?"

"I wanted to thank you. If it wasn't for Dokja-ssi, we would all be dead."

"No, that isn't the case."

"Even if I had lived, I wouldn't be able to live as a person. Thank you very much. And...I am ashamed."

Lee Hyunsung bowed deeply in Dokja-ssi's direction before someone grabbed his shoulder. I tensed at the appearance of the man, eyes glaring. He was the moneyholic, the manager Han guy. I stopped caressing Gilyoung's head, ready to talk some sense into this man.

"Haha, our contractor did one big thing. Dokja-ssi, do you know my name?"

"I know, Han Myungoh-ssi."

"Huh, Han Myungoh-ssi? Shouldn't you call me Department Head?"

Han Myungoh, huh? Was he still trying to use his position in this situation? I finally couldn't stand it anymore.

"Listen here, the all mighty Department Head Han Myungoh." I spat out my words, dripping with venomous sarcasm. "Do you really think," I glowered as I pointed at the dismembered bodies spread across the train, "that you still are allowed to call yourself a department head?"

Han Myungoh's face turned red with anger, but I still pressed on. "Do you think you still live in that past world? Do you still think your company still exists in this situation?"

I laughed darkly, before turning to all of the survivors within the subway, making eye contact with them, one by one. At last, my gaze met Dokja-ssi's. I stared at him, eyes unblinking. "This goes to all of you. This is the harsh reality; if you still think you still can walk home, eat a hearty dinner and go to sleep in a warm bed, then YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE A DAY IN THIS WORLD."
