A shadow of silhouettes
Power has intoxicated the best of hearts
As wine interludes diluting the strongest heads
Leaving no man wise enough
Nor good enough to be trusted with unlimited powerIn the land of shadowed silhouettes
We stand predominately as figures posing as skulled flowers in the hot scorched deserts of the Sahara
Having and acquiring false aspects of life
Just like the envious gawk of a monkeyWide through the translucent landscape
We stand radiating images of glee
For death has illuminated the land of sleep
Leaving skulls on display for show
And leaving gardens buried and drenched in bloodA shadow of silhouettes
Convenient to damage and darkness
In the condensed dented ruins of misfortune
We are left shackled to a long thread of sins
Stumbling upon lanes that have no turnings
Being left as a fetter, that the soul plainly threw awayIn the shadows of silhouettes
There's dragon’s blood dripping from a waterfall
We judge with what our eyes see
And decide what our ears hear
Yet without mercy we judge the poor
Throwing them pennies to mock their embarrassing display
With a breath of our lips
We utter words that can build or destroy
As shadows of silhouettes roam around with disfigured figures bleeding and pleading for mercy
Around empty bottles as they play
