Everyone's been doing this, and as a tribute to this amazing album I discovered through the re-recording, I'm going to do it too! (Yes, these titles are a mouthful. Heads up, these parenthesis are the first of very, very many.)
6 - When Emma Falls in Love (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)
My favorite part of this song is the cheerfully bittersweet piano at the start... but it quickly goes down from there. I'm not going to call it a bad song, because it's not. But the whole thing just felt... slow for me. Not slow as in the song itself was slowly paced, because that's pretty much how folklore and evermore sound like, and I love those albums. But it felt slow as in dragging and tedious. I don't know why. But I can understand this song being your favorite, or at least pretty high on your list.
5 - Timeless (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)
It's a nice, sweet love song. And long. It's plenty, plenty long. Maybe even longer than it should be? Some songs are short and sweet (ex: "Midnight Rain") or sound amazing in their longevity (ex: "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)"). But this song could have been a little bit shorter because it seemed to stretch on for a little while. In fact, when listening to it, I'm thinking, How much longer?? Because the length doesn't really work for it as it does for some other songs of hers. Other than that, it's a pretty good song.
4 - Foolish One (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)
I like this song. I can relate to it a lot. I don't listen to it often, though. I've got pretty neutral feelings about this song, but yeah. It's almost too relatable. Maybe it'll be number three if Spotify plays it more often (I leave my playlist on shuffle). Moving on!
3 - I Can See You (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)
Ah, yes, the superstar of SNTV. I love it. The dark, um, implying tones of this song are amazing. It's reputation coded with just a touch of Lover. Or 1989? I don't know, I can't seem to decide. But anyway, yeah. It's a good song. It deserves all the attention it's getting. It doesn't connect with me as much, but it's good. Number three on my list is the perfect spot for it.
2 - Electric Touch (feat. Fall Out Boy) (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)
Apparently, this song has been last on a lot of people's lists. Why? I love it so much! The fast past, pop-rock anthem just clicked for me, way more than, say, WEFIL. It's a total head-banger and I love those songs that can get you up and jumping. You know the videos of baby Taylor with her curly blonde hair flying all over the place as she loses herself in a song? That's what this song feels like to me.
1 - Castles Crumbling (feat. Hayley Williams) (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)
This song is totally giving evermore vibes to me, which is probably why I like it so much. I love the quiet, brooding themes floating throughout it. The lyrics are incredible, the collab blended their two voices perfectly... Everything about this song I love, which places it at the top spot for me.
