GRACE'S POV| ______________
I sit in this Foster home on the couch while I hear the foster parents arguing upstairs and banging.
I'm so sick of it
I throw my crocs on and my hoodie and go to the telephone down the block.
(Yall know what I'm talking bout right?)
I take a deep deep deep breath before calling my sister who I haven't talked to in 2 years.
I dial the number and the phone rings
"Hello? Who's this" I here her say
"Um hey sis" I say slowly
"Grace-grace is this u!?" She says with her voice shaking
"Yea hey..." I say slowly smiling
"I missed you so much I'm so sorry for leaving u I'm so sorry my love I love you so much and im sorry" I hear her say it sounds like she's crying
I tear up while smiling at sound of her voice
"Oh sis it's okay I understand how mom treated you I love u so much and I miss u more." I say wiping my tears as they fall down my face.
"How have you been? Where are you?" She says sniffing
"I could be better the family I was put in is much like mom and dad arguing alot etc..I'm in Chicago it's horrible the school I go to is so bad and gross I can't take it anymore there's this girl her names ashlyn she's so annoying and always picks on me."
"Oh im so sorry to hear that Grace, but next time she picks on you just punch her dead in her face a clean shot will definitely break her nose" She says
I laugh a bit
"I gotchu sis but I'm running out of time so I'll call you later I love you so much" I say rushing
"I love you more,my love" I hear her say softly.
I love her voice so much
Then the phone cuts off as I hang it back up.
I go back to the house to be greeted by Kimberly (the foster mom)
"Omg where have you been?!" She says yelling at me
"I-um went to the deli got hungry..." I say
"Mmm hun I was gonna make dinner, but I'm glad ur okay" She says putting her hand on my shoulder.
I smile
"Okay well go freshen up and do whatever you gotta do ill just order some pizza" She says
"Sounds good" I say before walking upstairs
To see Timmy ( foster dad) he made me really uncomfortable.
I try to get through him but he grabs my wrist
"Let go creep!" I say trying to get out his grip.
"Thats no way to talk to ur daddy now is it." He says smirking
"Your not my dad now let go!" I say shoving him into the wall
"Grace is everything okay up there?" Kimberly says yelling
"Yea im fine just triped!" I yell back
Timmy looks at me before I run into my room.
I let out a breath of relief and sit on my bed before crying
"I have to get out of here" I say

I hear my phone ring and see "unknown caller
I get up off ashtrays chest and answer
"Hello who's this" I say confused
"Um hey sis..." I hear a a girl say and it sounds like Grace
"Grace-Grace is this you?" I say on the verge of tears
"Mama you okay?" I hear ashtray say as he sits up
"Its grace" I say putting myself on mute real quick ashtray quickly sits up and turns my lamp on
"Yea hey..." I hear her say slowly
I cry at the sound of her voice she's grown up. Ashtray places me on his lap and wipes my tears
"I missed you so much I'm so sorry for leaving you im so sorry my love I love you so much and I'm sorry." I say apologizing over and over again while crying as ashtray rubs my back.
"Oh sis it's okay I understand how mom treated you I love you so much and i miss you more" I hear her says sounds like she's crying to
She's matured Alot I'm proud.
"How have you been? Where are you?" I say worried
"I could be better the family I was put in is alot like mom and dad arguing alot etc and I'm in Chicago it's horrible the school I go to is so bad and disgusting I cant take it anymore there's this girl ashly whos so annoying and always picks on me." I hear her say annoyed

"Oh im sorry to hear that Grace but next time she messes with you just punch her dead in her face a clean shot will definitely break her nose" I say smiling
I hear her chuckle "I gotchu sis but I'm running it'll time so I'll call you later, I love you so much." She says
I'm gonna miss her voice
"I love you more my love." I say softly
Then the phone hangs up
I start to cry again and ashtray hugs me tightly
"You did good mama,okay? Now you know shes okay and where gonna get her. Promise" Ashtray says rubbing my back As he hugs me
I sniff "Thank you so much ashtray I love you so much Baby I'm glad I have you" I say kissing him all over his face
