When Renly was around nine or ten, she fell into the water beneath one of the Londinium bridges. She had never been taught how to swim, she never had anyone to teach her, so when her small body hit the cold water she fully expected to die. A part of her welcomed it even, after all, what did she have to live for? She was an orphan, with no one and nothing. But as she lay there waiting for death to take her something inside of her began to scream.

It wanted air, it wanted breath, it wanted life.

It didn't want to die in the cold water, it didn't want to be just another body, unloved and unknown.

So Renly fought.

She fought with all her might to reach the surface, and she did.

After that day Renly fought.

For air, for breath, for life.

When Renly reached the shore, her body was screaming. The adrenaline that had overcome her was long gone leaving behind nothing but exhaustion and loss.

John and Will were both dead.

Renly pushed away the thoughts of her fallen friends, she could mourn them when they reached the caves. For now, her focus needed to be on the true-born king.

Renly was the last one to get out of the water. She watched as Percy and Rubio helped drag Margot to shore.

Arthur looked around at the party that had just rescued him, eyes lingering on Renly for a moment before he turned to Rubio.

"Do I know you?"

"You will in a minute."

Rubio responded cryptically before pulling out some rope.

"Put your hands out."

He ordered, Arthur just looked at him like he was crazy.

Renly stepped fully out of the water ignoring Rubio and Arthur's arguing, she wanted to check on Margot who looked exhausted. Renly could not imagine the power it must have taken the mage to take over the will of so many creatures at the same time.

"Are you okay?"

She asked, reaching for her hand and squeezing it.

Margot only nodded, breathing heavily.

Renly turned to Percy, she did not need to pose the same question to him, he was already nodding and holding out his hand in a thumbs up as he tried to catch his breath.

Renly heard the sound of a struggle and spun around finding Arthur standing over Rubio on the ground, Rubio's sword in hand.

Renly groaned, pulling her knife. She moved swiftly, coming up behind Arthur and putting the knife to his throat.
