The Darklands was a terrifying place. Renly had not been told what to expect when she had been sent in there by the mysterious mage one year before. With her bow and arrows, sword, and a pack filled with things she would need to survive she had been projected into what seemed like another world. Renly would never describe it to anyone who asked, nor did she know if she could, but if she had to describe it with one word it would be nightmare.

It was like being sent into your very own, very real world of nightmares, with giant spiders and rats, wolves that hunted you through the night, and an inescapable sense of constant dread.

She spent what felt like four days within that dark horrible place, killing monsters and rabid animals as she looked for the cave she had been instructed to find.

It was like a shadow version of their own safe haven, the caves mirroring the ones she would later call home, only these caves were filled with darkness and beasts.

When she had reached the center of the cave, and sat down as instructed she had seen many things, flashes of memories, forgotten, remembered, and yet-to-come memories had flooded her mind.

When she arrived back in her own world, just an hour had passed since she had gone into the world of monsters but something had changed within her.

The fire in her eyes still burned as bright as it had before she went in but she was no longer fighting her fate. She had accepted it, and she was determined to make sure that whenever she left this world, she would do it without regrets.

Renly sat down beside Margot, they sat in silence staring into the fire.

So much went unsaid between them but there was nothing that needed to be said.

When Bedevere walked up to the two Margot did not look away from the fire as she spoke to him.

"You know what we have to do. In order for him to control Excalibur, he needs to go to the Darklands."

Bedevere looked completely opposed to the idea.

"That's not happening."

Bedevere argued.

Margot simply stared at him.

"He needs to take the sword to the tower."

She shot back.

"Give me another way."

He demanded.

"There is no other way."
