Tw: Cheating, betrayal of trust, clone hate.
Saria left from another long day at work, a container of food she picked up on the way in her hands. She came home from work early, since the bar was shut down due to a fight that broke out.
She was sure Eric would be glad to see her early.
Saria closed the door behind her and quietly slipped inside. She didn't hear Eric's voice coming from his gaming room, so she looked around for him.
He wasn't in the kitchen.
He wasn't in the living room.
He wasn't in the 'fresher.
Saria heard a slamming noise coming from the bedroom and got worried, so she ran there. She finally found Eric, but he wasn't alone.
A woman rolled off him and squeaked, pulling the covers over her body. Eric paled and fell off the bed, grabbing his pants from the floor.
Saria stood there watching them with a shocked expression.
"Babe, it's not what it looks like!" Eric shouted, trying to explain it.
"'Babe'?" The woman furiously said. "You told me your roommate was just a friend! Did you use me to cheat?"
Saria still stood there, unmoving.
"I was thinking of you the whole time!" Eric placed his hands on her shoulders.
"I'm out of here!" The woman grabbed her clothes. "Darling, dump him. He's trash."
Saria didn't respond.
The woman ran out the door, giving Saria a sorry look and slapping Eric.
"Babe, say something!" Eric pleaded.
Saria took a deep breath before running out the door, going off to where he couldn't follow.
Eric tried catching up to her, but tripped over his belt lying on the floor.
"Saria?" Tech furrowed his brow. "What are you doing here?"
"I didn't know where else to go. Eric cheated on me and I can't deal with him right now," Saria sniffled. "Can I come in please?"
"Of course!" Tech looked alarmed.
He stepped aside so she could enter the ship, and shut the door behind her. He guided her to a seat.
"What's Saria doin' here?" Wrecker asked.
"I'm not completely certain," Tech admitted. "Saria, would you mind informing us what exactly happened."
Saria explained what she saw Eric doing, and Wrecker gasped dramatically at it all.
"That di'kut!" Wrecker shook his fist when she was done.
"Can you help me with something Tech?" Saria politely asked.
"Certainly. What may I assist you with?" Tech nodded and sat next to her.
"I want to break up with Eric. He doesn't speak BSL and I want you to translate for me. That is, if it isn't too awkward," Saria requested.
"I will be fine," Tech stood up. "Let's go and get this over with."
"I'll tell Hunter where ya went," Wrecker volunteered.
"Thanks Wrecker," Saria softly smiled.
"Hello Eric. You don't know who I am, but I've heard lots about you," Tech said when Eric opened the door. "I will be translating for Saria, since you make her write down her thoughts like a barbarian."
Eric scowled. "Who are you?"
"I am Tech. I used to work with Saria," Tech responded.
Eric's face screwed up in disgust. "Are you a clone?"
"Yes," Tech pleasantly said. "Is that a problem?"
"Clones aren't real people. They're substitutes for us normal people," Eric said, staring at Tech in revulsion.
Tech's face fell and he shifted his stance. Saria tapped his shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile.
"So get off my property," Eric scowled. "Saria, get inside."
Saria started to take a step forward before her face hardened and she shook her head. She signed something and turned to Tech to translate.
"Saria would like you to get off her property since you haven't contributed to rent in quite a while," Tech smugly said.
Eric glared at Tech. "Saria, get inside."
Saria narrowed her eyes at him as she made quick hand signals.
"She says that you better leave before she has you removed from her house. Also, she has now broken up with you," Tech said, enjoying the look of shock of the clone haters face.
"She can't do that!" Eric protested.
"Why not?" Tech challenged.
"I- Saria- but I..." Eric stuttered.
Saria shooed him from the doorway. She hurried inside and packed his possessions while Tech stopped Eric from throwing a tantrum.
She tossed his bags out on the street and waved goodbye. Eric stomped his feet and whined.
"It's been a long time coming, but goodbye, Eric. I won't miss you," Saria felt like a giant weight had been lifted off her chest.
And she slammed the door in his face.
YAY HE'S GONE!!!
