"He's blind?" I wondered aloud.

"Yes, Amber he is blind." Dr. Gomez answered me, showing no emotion.

"But I can still ride him, right?" I was absolutely desperate at this point.

The vet was over, checking Courage. Ashton stood beside me, his arms crossed over his chest.

"It'll be hard, but if you can train him." She lingered off the sentence.

"You'll help me do that, right Ash?" I asked him frantically.

"Sure, Amber, but you're going to have to put in some work too." He started to tap his foot to an unknown beat.

"Thanks, Dr. Gomez!" I cheerily showed my gratitude.

"Uh-huh." I was starting to get the feeling She didn't like me, but Oh well, not everyone can.

Gomez started to pack up her things, Then made her way to her car after. While I was alone with Ashton, I gave him a toothy grin and started to jump excitedly.

"Yes!" I repeated over and over again, almost blowing off Ash's ear drum.

"Somebody's excited." My father remarked as he walked into the stall.

"I've got my own horse!" I shrieked.

"Calm down, Amber, we dont want him deaf too." Ashton laughed.

"Deaf too?" Daddy repeated. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Courage, the colt, is blind." I explained to him, my gaze widening by the minute.

"Is that so? Well good thing he doesn't have bad lungs or something, or else it wouldn't be safe to ride him."

"Daddy, I'm so happy, I think my head is going to explode."

"Princess, calm down. I know you're excited but it'll take a while for this colt to grow up, you know."

"Ugh, don't remind me." I groaned, it would take three years before I could actually get on his back.

"Time will remind you, soon enough." My father chuckled.

"It sure will." Ashton agreed.
