"Ashton, he's beautiful." I told my brother.
"I knew you would like him." Ashton smiled. "So, what's his name?"
"I don't know, that's not an easy decision." I said, laughing. "I'll figure it out soon enough." Ashton just nodded in acknowledgement.
My gaze reached the black colt in front of me. I couldn't believe that he was mine, that I finally had a horse.
I reluctantly stood up and smiled. Ash took my place, and I could tell he was making sure the foal was okay.
An adorable noise came out of the newborn and I chuckled. The colt stood up, with shaky legs and jumped.
He went over to his mother and muzzled her, showing his gaining confidence. I felt a smile creep onto my lips and I laughed again.
"Courage." I said out of the blue.
"What?" Ashton said confused.
"Courage, that's his name. My little hint of Courage." I said obviously, like Ash should've known.
"I like it. And since he's purebred you could probably show him. But then you need a show name."
"Little Hint of Courage." I gently hit the back of Ashton's head.
"Oh.... makes sense, Amber."
"I know, Because I said it." I smiled proudly.
"Well I've got good news and bad news." Ash scratched his nape.
"Bad news first."
"Ok, the vets coming and if Courage isn't healthy, you can't keep him. But if he is, then he's all yours 'lil sis."
"I'm hoping for the latter." I smiled. "So when's Dr. Gomez coming?"
"I notified her today, so probably around noon tomorrow."
I sighed in frustration. I wasn't one to be patient and waiting to know if I could keep a horse kept me on the edge of my seat.
Ash chuckled knowingly, his eyes showing amusement. I just glared him, his expression changing.
Finally I had my own horse. Finally my life was complete.
