Anticipation was sleeping through me as the elevator door opened and I stepped in to the lobby of dorm.
My room number was 13, in the left corner of the lobby. I found it with a doormat saying 'Welcome Bitches'. The man downstairs had said I would be having a roomate. Guess what, I'll try my best to be a friend with her.
I knocked on the door, though I already had a passkey. Nobody answered. Knocking again. No answer. I used the key.
The door opened with a click sound. Blood rose to my faceu as I entered the mini apartment. It was empty.Ugghhh...gosh. Fuck me already.
I sighed in relief. So my to-be-roomate is not here yet.
I've always had strange feeling in meeting strangers knowing that I have to thrive with them. Pistanthrophobia, I should say, a fear of trusting others. I fear what if the person doesn't likes me, how he/she will treat me, and all sorts of what ifs.
I bring my suitcase to a hault near the small shoe rack and head in the area. It had too rooms, colourful they were, so full of life. I entered the first one. It was fully furnished, pink bedsheets, purple cushions, curtains, squishies, teddies, and a....messy study table. Wait, what-
"Its beautiful, right?" A femine high-piched voice came from behind me. I turned to spot a girl of somewhat my age leaning against the door frame. Amusement displayed on her face. I guess both of our reactions were same.
"Umm...I'm sorry but..is this your room?"
"And how else do you suppose we'd get so highly decorated rooms?"
Sarcastic reply followed by a sarcastic expression.Unable to reply, I pursued my lips.
"Ok, fine" She said throwing her hand in the air.
"The next one is free, you can take that or.... you want to sleep in the bed as mine."
She said while smirking."No..No.. thanks." I moved out marched my luggage to the next room.
It was empty but colorful, so full of life, just like I love things to be. Alive.
"I guess we need to talk first, leave your suitcase here and come out." It was no request but more of a command.
I went and sat on the small couch in the living area and she started the conversation.
"I'm Viena."
"I'm Iris, nice to meet you." I sounded naive.
She was a pretty girl with brown eyes, this lips, round face, and medium length hair.
She was a tall girl in leggings and a loose tanktop, her brown straight hair down the back."You look young, what's your age?"
She narrowed her eyes and waited for me to answer."19" I thought for a minute and replyed.
"Oh hoo so newbie...." She said while placing an arm on my shoulders. She's weird.
"Let me tell ya' , Its mah second year, I don't cook, I create a lot of mess, and most of the time I'm outta appartment, I don't wash my clothes regularly and I have zero interest in cleaning...if you have any problem, clean mine too...."Damn it. So she is going to boss me around.
Heat climbed my cheeks, I hope she didn't see. But she said at my nervous face and said...
"Woah...woah, I don't bite though, ok come one kiddo, let's get to know each other."
And playfully threw a pillow at me and told me to get comfortable. We spent next two hours talking. She told me every thing. About her home, her parents, her siblings. I just listened more and spoke. I talked mostly about random things. I told bout the accident I got into today. Though she was a bit bossy but I guess we can get together.
"Now, let me call us friends." She said while stretching a hand towards me. I hesitated a bit took it. "Friends". But still my gut feeling said I should not. Then again I needed someone here. I'll try to keep up till she doesn't dig in past and create alot of nuisance.

It was still 7:45 in my watch. So I decided to unpack my things.
" I'm goin out, don't wait for me, I'll be late."
Who is gonna wait, I'm greatful you're actually giving me sometime to breath.
I gave her a tight smile, "Ok".As soon as the frontdoor closed, I took a deep breath. Finally.
I pulled the suitcase on the top of my bed and looked around the room once more to see what to fit were.
I've not brought a lot of luggage with me. Only my clothes. Books. And the shoes I already wore.
Plot twist- actually more than half of my luggage will be sent tomorrow. Obviously I couldn't carry so much so ..yeah..
I hung my clothes in the closet. Arranged my books in the shelf. Put the brown-black bedsheet on the bed and one black pillow.
More pillows are coming tomorrow. Yeayyyyy!
