I had decided to clone and sell Zombina, Manako, and Tionishia as none of them really did it for me, however I decided to have my stamp affect Kuroko and Doppel directly so that I could have access to everything that I would need. Of course, due to this over the last week of me working in the office the two had grown rather bold in the way that they were trying to get my attention, which of course the other girls found either cute or hilarious.
I wonder when I should bring them in on the secret? I ponder to myself as I prepare to enter the building that was my temporary workplace.
Kasumi has also been very busy cleaning up the cities less desirables, or more accurately their wallets. Netting us quite the hefty sum for expenditures. I also decided that having the UNSC Full Moon [name pending] spend all of its time just hanging out on the dark side of the moon was unproductive so I had Serina take her out to the belt past Mars to gather raw materials for future construction, communication is a bit slow but she always sends me a daily report of her progress.
As for Robin I was actually feeling pretty bad about leaving her with nothing to do on the ship without even seeing her. I really have to make it up to her when I get back.
As I walked into the main recreation area I had to duck out of the way of a phone book that happened to be flying past. Looking at the war zone that used to be our office, the first thing I see is Manako fearfully hiding behind a very confused Tionishia, quickly followed by Zombina rolling around on the floor clutching her stomach from laughter... as well as her head halfway across the room from her body. That's slightly disturbing. But the real eye-catcher was the all out brawl going on in the middle of the room as Doppel and Kuroko were going at each other.
"What makes you think that he'd want you? You're just a human." Doppel verbally lashed Kuroko as she lashed out a physical roundhouse kick at the other woman.
Dodging slightly to the side Kuroko grabbed her ankle, pivoted her center of mass, and hurled her across the room. "At least in my natural form I'm not flat as a board." This of course heralded another round of cackling from the zombie woman who was trying and failing to stand. That attack was super effective, you're going to need to apply some burn heal for that.
Before I could continue my inner monologue I sensed a disturbance in the force, or maybe it was just my manly instincts reminding me that you never, under any circumstances, ever, until the end of time mention a woman's bust in an argument. Stepping between the two just in time to catch Doppel in a lunge towards Kuroko I look between them. I guess I'm having that talk sooner than expected. "Zombina pull yourself together, Tionishia hold down the fort for a bit, I need to have a chat with our fearless leader and our changeling about office etiquette." I say rolling a squirming Doppel under one arm as I hand the coffee to the Oni.
"Oi, is that a zombie joke?" Said zombie asks in faux outrage.
Giving her head a deadpan stare I simply nod before looking back to Kuroko. "Legally I can't carry you like this so just follow for now." She looked down in either shame or sheepishness, I wasn't sure, before obediently following.
As we walked out of the office I sent a quick text to Kasumi asking her to come back to the apartment to help me with selling the explanation. Getting into the elevator of my apartment building I got a text back saying that she hadn't even left yet. She likes to sleep in.
Entering my abode I bring the girls into the living room and, motioning for Kuroko to take a seat I gently put Doppel down so she could also sit. Leaning against the wall I started our discussion. "So what was that about? And before you both start deflecting please don't, I know that you both have feelings for me." I look between the two women who look like chastised children, either unwilling or unable to meet their parents' gaze. "Okay then let me start by making some guesses. First; you both fell in love with me rather quickly, and then quickly realized each others feelings. Second; this one neither of you probably realized, but you started to develop feelings for each other-" this immediately got objections from both sides as well as furious blushes. Raising my voice to be heard once more I continued. "You started to develop feelings for each other, and you didn't know how to react about that as you are both straight women. Am I wrong?" I finished with a normal volume voice.
Both women looked at me in horror, my guess; because they were so horrified that I had aired their secret to one another. After a moment Doppel managed to compose herself slightly and, blushing furiously, answered my question. "No you're right, at least from my side."
Kuroko looked aghast at her colleague who had just admitted to us about having strong feelings for both of us. "How did you know?" She finally asked in almost a whisper.
I sigh before pushing off the wall and standing in front of my large window looking out at the skyline. Trying to parse out my next words, I slowly look over my shoulder to see both the human and the doppelgänger staring at me intently, so I turn back to look them in the eye. "What do you know about the multiverse theory?" Upon receiving a flicker of recognition from Kuroko and a blank stare from Doppel I continue. "It basically says that any possibility here has to be at least a probability or at most a fact somewhere in some universe. There is a lesser known theory that I've established called the theory of Psionic Resonance. Essentially it states that some people are able to resonate with a separate reality or universe and are then able to express their resonance through media." I was of course just explaining what the arch deity had told me, but they didn't have to know that.
"Okay, but what does that have anything to do with your seeming ability to read our minds?" Doppel asked, receiving a small nod from Kuroko to show her agreement with the sentiment.
I sigh again and bow my head. Fuck it, all in all cards on the table. "Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am now SPARTAN-104 Frederic, though before I came here I was someone else, something less than I am now. I arrived here one week ago in a ship, piloted by an AI before I brought a drop ship down to the surface, whereupon I met you and your team." As I spoke the look of confusion changed first to disbelief, before quickly shifting to rage in both of their eyes.
"If you were going to reject us, you could have at least told us to our faces rather than spin some nonsense off about the multiverse and spaceships. We're not going to let you disrespect us like this." Kuroko spat with enough venom that it could probably damage the plating of the Full Moon.
As they stood to leave I answered the woman who hadn't technically asked me a question. "Fine, do you want proof?" I asked in an even tone before looking between them. "Kasumi, could you please secure them, I'm going to call the pelican and Serina."
"See you're even talking to your imaginary fri- what the fuck!?" Doppel started to chastise me before Kasumi decloaked and slapped a pair of Omni-gel cuffs on both of them before quickly collecting their phones, walkies, and any other devices that they had on them and placed them on the kitchen island.
"Who the hell are you? Where the fuck did you come from? What is going on?" The questions spilled out of the two like a waterfall while I grabbed my datapad from my pocket space and first called the pelican in for a pickup at the top of the building, before sending Serina a message saying that I needed her to make her way back to a close enough orbit that we could make a day trip out to her and back. After sending the message I look at the two, now very scared, women.
"If you let us go we won't say anything, we swear." An almost crying Kuroko said. It really hurts to see these women, who I actually care about, be so scared of me.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you, I'm just going to show you the truth and then I'll let you decide what you want." It was about this time that I heard the subsonic rumble of the pelican coming in for a dust off. "That's our ride." I say before picking Kuroko up, bridal style, and motioning to Kasumi to do the same for Doppel.
Moving quickly I run out to the roof surrounding my pool to see the interior of the pelicans troop compartment hanging about three feet away from the ledge and over the sound of a screaming Kuroko and Doppel, Kasumi and I leap over the small gap, onto the ramp, and then into the bay. I quickly secure my passenger in one of the jump seats as does my companion. Once secured I bang on the flight door in the universal sign for we're all good. Kasumi raised the ramp and then cut the cuffs off the two pseudo prisoners allowing them to once more use their hands freely. "Now before you try to escape, please stop and take in the feeling of acceleration, as well as the way the deck is tilting. On our current course we will be leaving the atmosphere in about three minutes." As the two begin to panic at the prospect of depressurization and try to find the releases, I turn and open a panel that revealed a monitor that quickly displayed the pilot's view including HUD which had the altimeter displaying our quickly rising altitude. The two froze as we exited the stratosphere and the black of space began to become its true color.
While watching this Kasumi pulled me to the back of the compartment, granted it wasn't that far off, but it was slightly more private. "Is it a good idea to bring them to the ship?" She asked me, looking concerned.
Giving her a nod I replied. "Unfortunately yes, what would you do if I were to come up to you on the Citadel before you met Shepard and told you that I was a multiverse traveling dragon, without showing you any proof of my claims?" Seeing the look of realization on her face I continue. "To them the fact that I'm a dragon fits with their world view, but space travel is too much for them, just as it's reversed for you. So I'm putting all of my cards on the table so that they can make their own decision on the matter, the stamp should keep them around but I'll give them the choice all the same, that way they don't resent me." I say glancing at the subjects of our conversation as they're enamored with the view on the screen.
After receiving an understanding but still worried "Okay" from Kasumi I turn to take a seat when my datapad goes off showing a confirmation from Serina saying that she'll meet us at our previous holding place in 4 hours.
Sitting across from our prisoners? Hostages? No, that implies that we want something from someone else so we'll go with unwilling passengers for now. Sitting across from our unwilling passengers I look at them as they seem a bit shell shocked or maybe even dazed. "Okay, now I'm sure that you have questions, and we have 4 hours until we rendezvous with my ship so now is the time to ask." I open the floor for the difficult part of this, the explanation. Maybe I should make an orientation video to cover the stuff. Food for thought.
