The journey out of Alryne proved to be an easy one, they had scoured the city for anything one final time and left. While searching Maunkein stumbled upon a weapon shop, most of the weapons and tools that were still there were rusted and unsalvageable, but the goliath wasn't looking at any of that, no, he had his sights set on a great club that had previously been displayed over the counter of the dilapidated store. It had engravings of vines and what looked like some thin tropical trees he's seen only in books before. Maunkein seemed especially happy with his find, flinging his axe away like a discarded toy, nearly decapitating Kyomi in the process.

Gin, despondent at the prospect of leaving this place abandoned, suggested they head to the closest town and inform the people of what happened here, and that it's safe now.

"I always pictured myself living in a city like this, so it's a shame to just abandon it without telling anyone of it being safe now. Maybe someone will be able to help restore it someday."

"Sounds like you lowkey want to be the one to help restore it." Kyomi said, not as a question, but as a statement. Gin did nothing to hide the sheepish grin.

"A little bit. We do have priorities right now, but.... Could we perhaps stop by every now and then, to make sure this place and the people are doing fine?"

"First, this place needs people, but if anyone is willing to move and help fix it up. Then sure. But second, coming back to this place would be a chore. What if we're halfway across the country before you have the urge to visit? It's not a practical, long-term decision."

Like something clicking into place, Theon got an idea as he heard Kyomi and Gin discuss with each other. He patted his pockets and component pouch but didn't find what he needed; he knew he probably didn't have the materials, but he double checked just in case. With a tsk, he crossed his arms trying to think up on an alternative and no matter what the only solution was to leave and come back.

"I have a way to solve this issue, the one about being across the country and still able to return easily that is, but I don't have the required materials with me. The nearest town or city might have them so we can tell people about what went on here and come back with anyone willing. We can always split up, some of us staying behind and fixing up a few homes and the others getting supplies and laborers."

"That sounds expensive..." Dusty said with a grim look on her face, her shoulders slumped as she thought of the sheer number of gold they would spend on a city they don't even live in.

Ignoring Dusty's gripes about the amount of gold they would be wasting on a place they'd likely not even live in Kyomi begins to plan.

"... We can always claim the role of leaders here, we did destroy the demons and are willing to fix it all up. This... this could be our base as we plan for the attack, we can gather our forces here and when the time is right, we strike!" Liking the sound of this plan more and more, Kyomi went on a tangent, drawing up the statistics in her mind on what advantages this place can offer them.

The place had walls, a bit run down from the rebel forces that probably passed through and finished off those that were left but that could be fixed. The forest around the city also provided decent cover for any armed forces or military grade team to camp in when they're ready to move out. Not to mention the natural protection the mountains provide means that if they get someone from a farther town to message them at the nearest sign of rebel activity they would be ready before the enemy could cross the mountains.

"Then it's settled, Alryne is our group's new city base. Now, for the hard part. Walking all the way to the closest city." Vexed, Phammaxia said as she plopped down on a rock. She continued speaking with an overly cheery tone that just oozes the melodramatic flair of someone who's just tired of everything. "I propose that I stay, my legs aren't built for long distance travel, nearly snapped them like twigs on our journey here."
