Best friends or lovers?

Chapter 5

It's another day.
Gloria remembered how Barbie said she had an upset stomach the other night. Barbie was laying in her bed when Gloria walked in.

"Hey, how are you feeling today?" Gloria asked Barbie.

"I'm-" Barbie paused for a moment. She thought about all her feelings and how she's just been ignoring them. She sat up. "Actually, I'm not sick." She stuttered.

"What do you mean?" Gloria questioned.

"Well, ever since we talked about feelings." Barbie stopped. She couldn't get the rest of her sentence out of her mouth.

Gloria looked at her and slowly smirked. "Do you recognize those feelings for someone?" She asked.

Barbie hesitated to respond. "Yeah! Someone I met at a... store." She couldn't bring herself to say the truth.

"Tell me more about this person!" Gloria exclaimed. Barbie smiled awkwardly.

"Well, she's." She paused. "How do I know for sure these are love feelings." Barbie said.

"Well, what are you feeling?" Gloria asked.

"Well, when I'm around this person my stomach feels all weird. Like it's tied in knots and sometimes my face feels a little warm." Barbie responded.

"Well, it seems like you do have a crush." Gloria smiled. "Now tell me more about this girl!" She shouted excitedly.

Barbie didn't quite know what to say. She's now realized that she does like Gloria. She couldn't tell her though. "Uhm. Well, I'm not just going to tell you! It'll be a surprise." She said quickly.

"Alright fine, I get it. But I will be guessing from time to time!" Gloria laughed a little. She sighed a little as she walked away.

Gloria walked to the kitchen, she looked a little disappointed but she just started cleaning the counters.

Sasha walked into the kitchen to get a snack and noticed her mom's off expression. "Are you alright? You look a little upset." She asked

"Yeah, I'm fine," Gloria says with no hesitation.

"Does this have to do with Barbies crush?" Sasha said with a smirk.

"What how did you know about that?" Gloria questioned.

"Just answer the question!" Sasha shouted.

"No, it doesn't have to do with that!" Gloria shouted quickly while stuttering. Sasha stared at her with a big smirk.

"Do you like her?" Sasha said smiling.

Gloria stared at Sasha for a minute. "No! Why would you think that?"

"Okay, you know what, never-mind. Say what you want to say." Sasha said as she started to walk away.

Gloria sat down at the island. She just sat there and thought for a moment. Then she looked at Barbie in her room through the open door. Gloria looked at her for a minute and then decided to return to cleaning the kitchen. So she got up and started cleaning, even though it never needed to be cleaned in the first place. She was ignoring her feelings.
