The area was dead silent as MePad sat alone on the stage. MePad had allowed the remaining contestants to go do their own thing as no challenges had been notified by MePhone. Sure, MePad could have hosted a challenge on his own, but he thought it wasn't his place and wasn't sure whether it was appropriate to do so without the host's knowledge.
MePad let out a contented sigh as he gradually closed his eyes. He had no idea it could be so peaceful here without the participants squabbling and MePhone barking commands. And it seemed a lot more serene without Toilet scream—
"'ELLO MEPAD!!"
MePad jerked slightly at the unexpected voice, then opened his eyes in surprise to find Toilet right up to his screen. "Oh! Greetings, Toilet." MePad welcomed the other with professionalism. "I'm assuming you're looking for MePhone4? Apologize but the host isn't around here, at least not that I'm aware of." MePad informed Toilet, knowing full well that he would ask about MePhone. MePad was a little stunned Toilet even bothered to welcome him in the first place, considering he and Toilet weren't on the best of terms.
MePad would like to think they were, but Toilet can be stubborn and greedy when it comes to sharing MePhone4's appreciation.
But what Toilet said next took the tablet by surprise. "Oh! Uh... I'm not lookin' faw Mistah Phone, I jus' came by to see YOU!" Toilet corrected with delight in his voice.
MePad blinked. "Oh, really?" Toilet normally wants nothing to do with MePad after finding out how much the host appreciated MePad's company over Toilet's. So seeing Toilet become welcoming was a pleasant surprise.
Toilet nodded, a smile growing over his lid. "Yes, really!!"
"Well, what do you wish to talk about, Toilet? Do you require any guidance?" MePad calmly spoke. Maybe he can gain Toilet's trust this way and demonstrate that they don't have to be rivals all the time.
MePad observed as Toilet sheepishly avoided his gaze, prompting MePad to raise a concerned brow. Just as MePad was about to ask what was wrong, Toilet levitated away. MePad let out a quiet sigh, looking a little disappointed. Maybe he and Toilet weren't meant to be allies. Toilet clearly doesn't have an interest in making amends.
MePad rose up, planning to go find MePhone to clear his thoughts, when Toilet reappeared, carrying multicolored cards on top of his tank. "I wan'ed to give these to you!" Toilet said as he drifted closer to MePad, allowing him to view the cards. They were shaped like hearts.
MePad carefully took the cards from Toilet's tank and began opening them, reading the lovely words and observing the doodles of him and Toilet together. If MePad had a mouth, he would be smiling right now.
MePad displayed a happy emoji on his screen to convey his emotions. "They're wonderful, Toilet. I'm astonished you had time to make these."
"Oh, MePad, I've been workin' on them faw a long time!" Toilet stated before shyly averting his look from the other, his cheeks slightly pink. "I-I don' wan' to be enemies anymore. So... I-I made these two say sawry!" Toilet confessed, his obnoxious tone softening somewhat during his brief explanation.
MePad softened his look at Toilet. "Aw, Toilet. I'm pleased to hear we're no longer "enemies". As I already stated, I consider us equals, and I'm sure MePhone4 appreciates both our assistance and support."
Toilet's smile faded as soon as he heard the mentioned host, his eyes lowering to the ground. "Not meh... I'm beginnin' to think Mistah Phone doesn't enjoy my 'elp... He says I'm infuriatin'! That's not true, is it..?!" Toilet whimpered, tears welling up in his eyes as he began to cry.
MePad flinched a little, unsure what to do as he awkwardly watched Toilet cry. While it is true MePhone doesn't enjoy Toilet's company, the same cannot be said for MePad. MePad took Toilet by surprise as he gently brushed away his sad tears. Toilet sniffled and looked up at MePad with a slightly startled look. MePad's shockwave curved slightly as if to imitate a smile. "I don't find you unpleasant, Toilet. I suppose MePhone4 just has to get used to your... "special" way of helping." MePad comforted Toilet by wrapping one leg over him in an effort to hug him. "I apologize if you felt I was getting more attention from MePhone... I didn't wish to make you envious of me."
Toilet stood silent before leaning into the hug, nuzzling up to MePad's screen while being mindful his water didn't splash on him. "Thank you, Mepad... and.. I'm sorry for being so jealous of you..."
"It's okay, Toilet." MePad comforted before withdrawing from the hug. "If you wish... I can notify MePhone that you chose the challenge for the participants while he was away. You may take full credit." MePad said to which Toilet let out a slight gasp.
Toilet's eyes twinkled slightly. "R-Really? Are you sure?"
MePad gave a nod. "Of course. It's the least I could—oh!" He was cut off by Toilet who dove in for another embrace.
"Thank you, MePad!" Toilet sobbed with happy tears.
MePad felt his screen heat up slightly as a result of the close contact, but he disregarded it as he hugged back. "Anytime, Toilet."
