Kyojuro Rengoku had finally achieved his goal of becoming a Hashira not too long ago and was currently walking back from his most recent mission. He had to admit while being a Hashira was stressful and time consuming it was also rewarding. He got to save many lives and reunite many people with their families. He even made some friends among the other Hashira. His closest one was a very flashy ex-ninja with three wives. There was a draw back though.... Due to being so busy he hadn't had a chance to write to y/n hardly at all. He even had yet to tell her that he became a Hashira. Not to mention he hardly had time to check in on senjuro as much as he would like. He was so deep in thought that he didn't realize someone was next to him until they slung their arm over his shoulder. 

"Greetings Rengoku! your looking flashy today!" 

ah speak of the devil and he shall appear. 

"Uzui how are you today?" 

"I'm well, just finished a mission in record time." 

"That's great! I just finished mine I was on my way back home." 

"Oh is that so? I was wondering perhaps if you wanted to go drinking tonight to celebrate?" 

Just as Kyojuro was about to respond the two were interrupted by the caw of a crow who was flying towards them at a fast pace. 

"Huh? never seen that crow before." 

"Neither have I." 

"Caw! letter for Kyojuro Rengoku." 

Kyojuro lifted his arm for the crow to land on. After landing the crow held out its leg for Kyojuro to untie the letter. Kyojuro examined the letter recognizing the hand writing. 

"Oh the hand writing is very feminine could this be an admirer? How flashy." 

 Kyojuro's cheeks turned slightly pink. 

"No not an admirer a friend." 

The mysterious crow hopped off Kyojuro's arm and flew up to a low tree branch. 

"Really, cause from the look on your face it seems as if someone admires someone." 

Kyojuro opened the letter and began reading through it. Uzui was reading over his shoulder.

Dear Kyojuro, 
I forgot to tell you that I have a crow so don't worry about having to have kaname stay and wait for the reply. This is yuki he's a retired crow from the core that decided to take residency with us. He's developed quite the attachment to me and we're both good friends. He will be the one delivering letters. Also you'll never believe this but it turns out he's been long time friends with your crow kaname isn't that awesome! Oh I think senjuro would like yuki he's easy to talk to and is very friendly. I know a crow is not quite the same as a person but I believe friends and comrades come in many shapes and forms. Take my word for it as a person who lives away from most people at the bottom of a mountain. Speaking of the mountain the flowers have started to bloom I remember you saying at one point you'd one day like to see one. I've included a pressed one in the letter for you to see. Hopefully someday in the future I can show you them in person. Until then take care.

"How bold of her to send a flower to you and invite you on a date. How flashy!" 

"Come now Uzui she's just a friend, truly...." 

"You say that but you're heartbeat says something else." 

There are times Kyojuro cursed his friend's abnormally good hearing, this being one of those times. 

"Besides girls don't send flowers to just anyone you know." 

"I suppose that's true but I don't want to make any assumptions." 

Uzui sighed. 

"well at least tell me a bit about what she's like. If she's caught your eye she must be quite something." 

Kyojuro's smile widened. 

"Indeed! she's fierce and independent. But also kind and caring. She'd help anyone without a second thought and accepts people as they are for who they are. She's also an amazing cook!" 

"So you admit it~" 

he smirks as his friend looks down, the tips of his ears turning red. He might have said to much... Uzui crossed his arms over his chest a grin across his face. 

"Sounds like a flashy person and a good match for you. I approve!" 

Willing himself to calm down from his embarrassment; Kyojuro folded up the letter and tucking it into the inner pocket of his uniform. He looked around the nearby trees finally spotting yuki who had been silently watching the two. 

"Um excuse me, Yuki correct?" 

"I am." 

"thank you for taking the time to deliver this to me, I truly appreciate it." 

"It's not a problem I was just doing my duties is all." 

"Still thank you. Oh I know have some of these, if I recall the mountain is a fair distance away." 

He held out a small pouch of almonds. It was loosely tied so that crow could get it open if he wished to. 

"Thank you, that's very kind. Do take care of yourself young rengoku, and say hello to kaname for me if you can." 

"I'll be sure to." 

Yuki nodded his head in approval before taking the small pouch in his beak and flying off.

As yuki flew back to mount Sigiri he contemplated about what he thought of Kyojuro. He's not a bad person. Very respectful and considerate. He's a far step above that peach haired menace. But still I don't know much about him either. I'll observe for now.
