The ground rumbled violently as the lumbering demon disappeared in a flash of bright red light, alarms rang out from cars in the parking lot accompanying the groans of the school building. When the blinding light dissipated, several dogs and cats looked around confused, then locked their eyes on a certain Dalmatian who summoned the demon.
"What the hell did you DO Patches?"
The little bombay yelled out to him, clenching a wooden spoon in her paws.
"Hey, calm down. I told it to heal everyone."
The bombay slowly lowered her spoon, still giving Patches the death stare.
"YOU TOOK MY CRYSTAL BALL?"
A taller siamese cat with pink hair yelled from the other side of the field, looking furious.
"I ought to kill you just for THAT you dirty mutt."
They started marching towards Patches, before a corgi and a husky stopped them.
"Hey hey hey let's all just calm down okay?"
The shorter Corgi started to shove the siamese cat back to where they were standing. The taller husky stood between them and Patches, before beginning to walk over to him.
"You're lucky nobody got hurt from that."
"Nobody got hurt because I know you'd kill me if anyone did Sparky."
Sparky rolled his eyes, then walked over to a tall bloodhound cowering behind a lightpost.
Patches looked back over to the Bombay cat, who had eased up slightly, though still looked to be on edge. He walked over to her.
"Hey, calm down Coco, I'm not gonna hurt anyone anymore."
"How do I know that?"
Coco gave Patches a skeptical look.
"I don't know, you'll probably just have to trust me."
Coco sighed, she put her spoon, which was just her wand in disguise, into her bag. She walked around the field, leaving Patches to do whatever, looking at all the students. They were confused, but mostly just making jokes at the current situation, typical dog behavior. One of them rushed up to Coco, an orange-eyed terrier.
"Hey Coco! I wanted to say like thanks on doing the whole home ec thing, getting to eat a cake was the BEST!"
Coco began to talk, but choked on her words for just a moment. She swore she had seen this dog earlier in the week, mutilated on top of the bleachers in the gym... why was he so upbeat now?
"I-I mean it wasn't really my idea, but no problem Rover."
Rover was jokingly pushed to the side by the Corgi.
"C'mon man she's a busy cat give her some space."
"Sorry Brownie, haha-"
Rover rushed off to other dogs that were standing in the field. Brownie turned to Coco, her ears perked up.
"Soooooo~ how's my little bombay doing?"
"Hehe... I'm good. A little anxious though."
"Oh? Why's that?"
"I don't know..."
Coco darted her eyes around the space, then back to Brownie.
"...it just feels like something bad is about to happen."
"...superstition?"
"No dummy, you know that stuff isn't real."
"Hey, I'm just making sure."
