Planet Veldin. The place where it all began. Three months after the multiverse was near the brink of total destruction, everything had returned to its origin state. Countless lives saved from death, many were oblivious of the event, not knowing that their lives were nearly reduced in a matter of hours. Fortunately, Ratchet and Clank, the Solana Galaxy's heroes, prevented it from happening, along with their allies from other dimensions, setting aside their differences for a common cause. Ratchet and Clank, after getting to know their new found friends and celebrated victory, had resided in Veldin, Ratchet's home.

It was a sunny and hot afternoon in Ratchet's garage, however this was barely a bother to him. He was no stranger to heat. Our hero was found tinkering with his ship once more. Throughout the years, it has been his trusty steed for years when it came to intergalactic travel. He has flown many ships in his hero days but none stayed like his Star Explorer.

Ratchet wore a casual white shirt, with blue overalls and was lying down on the ground, working on the underside of the ship. The sound of metals cranking fills the room and occasionally scours for parts in his tool box. Along with Ratchet in the garage was Clank, his long time friend. The two might not share in appearance or interests, however they have garnered a friendship that's as strong as the hardest minerals in the galaxy. A duo that compliments each other, the Yin and Yang of the galaxy.

Clank came in the garage holding a tray, with a pitcher filled with water and a cup. The little robot thought to give his companion some refreshments to beat the heat.

"Ratchet, would you care for some refreshments?" Clank spoke, setting down the tray on a nearby table.

"Be with you in a sec, pal. I'm just about done with maintenance." Ratchet enthusiastically replied.

After hearing Clank's invitation, Ratchet reattached the flat cover panel of the underside of his ship, tightened its bolts, and slid outwards. He sat upright and wiped his sweat from his forehead and accepted his robotic companion's offering.

"How did the maintenance go?" Clank said, sparking small talk between him and Ratchet.

"Oh nothing much. Pretty pedestrian if you ask me. She's in tip top shape, as always." Ratchet enthusiastically replied.

"Ah, splendid! It's always reassuring to know that our vessel is operating at optimal efficiency." Said Clank, matching Ratchet's enthusiasm.

"A malfunction with the ship should be the very least task we have to go through once we set course on meeting the lombaxes." Clank said, reminding a pending adventure that his lombax companion once asked him to accompany with.

"Clank, we've only gotten three months since our last big adventure. The dimensional rifts, Emperor Nefarious, and many more I can't remember." Ratchet replied.

"Saving the Archives in Savali, Gary the prophet and the monks, Kit, and of course, Rivet. Surely you didn't forget those, I personally think they're the highlight of our escapade." He added.

"Yeah... that too. It's just that, after all we've been through, a little routine maintenance feels almost... refreshing." Ratchet's tone shifted to a more contemplative one as he leaned against his ship.

"It most definitely is."

As their short conversation came to an end, a HoloComm informed them of an incoming message.

"Incoming call from, Captain Qwark." The HoloComm's voice chimed, alerting Ratchet to the incoming communication.

Ratchet tapped the holographic interface, bringing up the image of Captain Qwark's grinning face. "Hey there, Qwark. What's the latest and greatest?" Ratchet greeted, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
