Park Chaeyoung has a lot of love for Kim Taehyung.

He had been at her side through it all—at her worst when she was all alone. The young man had faith in her, helping her to lead a kingdom of her own even as a child. She wasn't even a teenager yet when she was banished and made to rule on her own, but he'd helped a lot——convincing the other sorcerers to have faith in her.

She believes that they have a bond greater than anyone on earth.

When Park Chaeyoung gets up, she's greeted by his familiar scent, bringing her breakfast in bed.

"Your majesty," he greets her with a polite bow, "... it's August the 9th."

She nods, as she slowly gets up from bed, slipping cold feet into slippers as she points to the table by the windowsill, "... let's eat together, the weather is nice. I need to stop by for—"

"Flowers, I know. Maria is on her way to get the freshest, red and pink like your mother's favourite," he comments as he moves the breakfast to the table, sitting beside her, "... what will you do with the foreigner."

"Jungkook," she corrects him, giving him a cautious gaze as she picks up her cutlery, "... eat."

It was tradition to let royalty eat first, but she never did so until he took the first bite.

"He's changed a lot since you were children," Kim Taehyung explains, "... but you look at him with fond eyes."

"Is that a crime?" She protests, turning to see the hurt in his eyes, "... he's innocent in it all."

"Maybe so, but he's brainwashed like the others," Kim Taehyung adds, "... but maybe, he can help us."

"In what way?" She inquires.

"Maybe he can help find your mother's ashes. It's probably in the palace and well—he will have unlimited access when he marries," Kim Taehyung tells her as he begins eating breakfast.

She nods, "... I don't trust him enough to tell him about my mother. He won't fathom it. Besides—the marriage is cursed, I doubt she'll make it to the big day if it continues."

"He looks at you fondly, he might listen," Kim Taehyung explains, "... I don't want you near him... but maybe, he can help you get the closure. Bring her body home. Your father, no matter how stupid of a man he is——I believe he kept her ashes somewhere."

Jeon Jungkook wonders what the aching feeling in his chest is when he walks down the hallway to see her holding her hand against Kim Taehyung's cheek.

She murmurs something under her breath, eyes closed as he watches the magic spread from her body onto his.

He doesn't know what the ritual is, but it feels somewhat intimate.

When it ends, he watches the way the other man looks him in the eye, almost with cautionary eyes. But he doesn't speak.

"I'll be off to do duties, please call me if you need anything, your majesty," Kim Taehyung dismisses himself.

The witch simply nods with a bright smile, a long black dress that reached the floor, as though it were some formal event.

"Jungkook, did you rest well?" She questions him.

Her voice was soft and innocent, the same way a significant other would greet the love of her life.

He simply nods.

"Actually, I want to speak to you about something," she takes a deep breath as she points to one of the rooms in the palace, "... is that okay?"

Jeon Jungkook obediently follows, as she closes the door behind him, pointing at the black sofas.
