How it all began

* 1 month earlier*

" Katie! Hurry up!"

"I'm coming, Mom!" yelled Katelyn from her room down the hall.

She rushed to get the last bit of mascara on her otherwise faint eyelashes. Today was her 16th birthday so of course she wanted to look nice. Yesterday her mother bought her a beautiful sexy black dress that you may see J-Lo in. It fell just above her knees and it had over the shoulder straps. It was her early birthday present that she was going to wear to her party.

Without a care in the world Katelyn strutted out to meet her mom and brother in the car. She paused right in front of the headlights, posed, and said,

"How do I look?"

Of course her family reacted as if they had just seen a model and showered her with imaginary roses. They blew kisses and finally after about two minutes of this, Katie got in the car. It was her day and she knew it. When they got to the venue of where the party was taking place, everyone was already there. Katelyn had a blast at the party and couldn't stop laughing. Everyone stayed until three A.M. She sure does miss those days when the worst part of her day wasn't when she went to sleep.

As soon as katie went home she went to bed and fell asleep. That's when the nightmares began.

KATELYN'S DREAM: She's walking down the street in her birthday dress heading home. The air is freezing cold, below 0 degrees farenheit and it's snowing. The weirdest thing is she doesn't have a coat on but she's not getting hypothermia or frostbite or anything. Then the man with the black coat appears. He's just standing there watching her from about 10 feet away. She looks at him and immediately turns away when she sees his face.From what she can see, it looks like his skin has been peeled off and uneven patches remain. His left eye is barely visible while the right eye bulges out of his head. That's all she can see because his collar is flipped up blocking all light from showing more details of his gruesome face. Katie just looks away and continues walking trying not to look back. After two blocks of walking she starts hearing rapid footsteps. Maybe like someone's speed walking. She turns around and sees the man heading towards her at an uncomfortable pace. Katelyn's walk turns into a sprint in a matter of seconds.

She then finds herself awake and sitting up in the safety of her own room. Soaked in her own sweat and breathing hard, she walks to the bathroom to wash up. She may have awaken and ended her dream, but this is just the beginning of her nightmare.
