The breeze ruffles my hair and the black sketchbook is balanced in my lap, a green colored pencil in my hand. The grass of the Gil sways in the wind and I try to replicate the movement onto the paper.
The blue sky is endless as it stretches above me. I pull out my blue pencil, shading in the sky onto the smooth paper.
I continue to replicate the hill onto my paper. The one place I felt like I could truly be myself.
I draw a small willow in the corner, gnarled and worn as it sprouts from the ground, dark green leaves emerge from its branches.
I start on the flowers next, the complicated pattern of colors being sketched in under the willow.
I hear footsteps behind me. I turn my head slightly and see Travis, trampling the grass behind him as he makes his way towards me.
He sits down next to me, silent. Not one of us as to say a word as he casually puts his arm around me and I finish drawing in the flowers.
He kisses me on the cheek and I smile and look up from my drawing for a second, before kissing him back, smiling as I do.
Travis smiles back and leans his head against my shoulder. I start to sketch to figures under the willow. A boy and a girl.
I draw in the details, the hair and clothes, facial features. I use the last bit of blue to finish The clothing.
I hold it up for Travis to see and he smiles as he realizes it's us. He kisses me again and I put down my sketchbook and wrap my arms around him. He wraps his arms around me and I put my head on his chest.
We sit on the hill, wrap in each other's arms just like we are in my drawing. Letting the sea of grass carry us away.
A/N
Hey guys! Sorry for the short chapter but I needed to finish this book so I can focus on the one I'm working on. Personally I didn't like this book as much as some of my others. Oh well, at least it's finished so now I can edit the book I'm working on!
Thanks for putting up with me!!!
