Kaureen's POV
To say I was angry was an understatement. I was angry, annoyed and frustrated but I couldn't do anything except cry. My mom just died a couple days ago from cancer and my "father" who I thought was non-existent suddenly wants me to move to Nigeria. He didn't care all these years so why now? I couldn't do anything cause the authorities handed me over to him on a platter of gold cause they didn't want to have to deal with my case, cowards. Oh Allah, please help me.
3rd person's POV
Kaureen's plane had landed and she got her luggage and waited for who her "father" said would pick her, her stepmom. She was lost in thought when she felt a tap on her shoulder and jerked her head up. She saw a fair skinned lady in hijab smiling at her. She was fairly taller than the lady. "You're kaureen right?" The lady asked. "Yes, who are you please?" Kaureen asked even though she had an idea of who the lady might be. "I am Maryam, your dad's wife and your stepmom. I am so excited to meet you" she said with enthusiasm. She seemed nice and was smiling but Kaureen didn't know why she couldn't bring herself to like her. She smiled a little and said "nice to meet you too" Maryam lead her to the car and they headed to her new home.
