"I really like it", I said smiling. I kept up my promise and took Lia too one of the Puerto Rican restaurants in town.

Lia and I have been good recently and I've been ignoring Nae's messages and her at school in general. We only have one more month left before graduation and I'll never have to see her again.

"Prom's in three weeks", Lia said to me.

She's been dropping hints here and there about prom and I already know I'm going to ask her to prom and then on prom night ask her to be my girlfriend.

"I know, are you excited?", I said teasing her.

"You what else would make prom even better?", Lia said to me smiling ear to ear.

I already know her tactics. She's been doing this for ages now and I'm not going to give in and tell her everything like I normally do. I genuinely want it to be a surprise.

"What? Sex in a fancy hotel?", I said laughing. She hit my arm and sucked her teeth at me cursing in Spanish which made me laugh even harder.

"You play to damn much Lex", Lia said getting up with her food box to throw it away. I followed suit and I gave her a hug from behind with a kiss on the cheek.

As we got into my car, I started playing Julia by SZA as we drove on the highway. I also planned to take AJ to the beach since we were still both suspended from school and her anxiety was getting the best of her.

I looked over at AJ and she was nervously picking at the skin around her nails. I moved my hand to hold hers and rubbed my thumb back and forth on hers to calm her down. She looked up and me and smiled softly and I returned the smile.

I pulled up to the beach took a spot closet to the sand. I got out and opened up the trunk and laid out the blanket I brought for us to lay on. AJ got out and laid down on it and I followed her and laid next to her looking at her while she was deep in thought.

"What are you thinking about?", I asked softly.

"That I might be going back to therapy for a while"
