In the days following the passing of what once was my future Stella monitored me closely before she contacted Noah with the all clear to send me back out to him. That same day he bought me my ticket and arranged for Stella to take me to the airport. Noah wanted to pick me up himself; something I was grateful for.

It wasn't easy being back in the city; even though it was my home. It was like being at work but feeling like a shitty person because you aren't working. It was hearing of colleagues' success without any progress of your own. Needless to say I was glad to be joining Noah back on tour.

Another added layer of difficulty of being back in the city for any amount of time, was the impending doom that came with the court date we were all anxiously waiting for. Jared would hopefully be locked away for a long time but there was fear in all of us for it not turning out how we hoped. The fact that what happened was an isolated incident leaving Jared with no history of criminal behavior did not look good for us. As it is, his court date is only two weeks away now and I'm looking forward to being as far away from the city as possible when it gets here.

"I want you to remember I love you, and I'll always be here for you." Stella said from where she sat beside me in the driver seat of her car.

"I love you too" I tried to get my smile to reach my eyes to match hers but I just couldn't manage it yet.

"It'll get better" she said as she brushed my hair back from my face. "I promise."

"It's just really hard to see that happening right now" I sighed as I looked up at the airport in front of us.

"Maybe tour can distract you" she unbuckled her seatbelt. "Then, the spring show can distract you even further" she popped the car door open, I followed her lead, standing up in the icy January air.

"Ugh I can't wait for spring to get here already" Stella complained as she pulled my suitcase from her trunk.

"Still a ways to go." I said, stretching out from the car ride. "Don't try to rush my winter away either" I gave Stella a pointed look.

"I'm sorry ice queen, how dare I say such a thing in your presence." Stella joked as she rounded the car pulling my suitcase behind her.

"Thanks again, for everything" once again my voice lacked the confidence I wished it had.

"Anytime, tiny dancer," Stella said, pulling me into a tight hug.

"I'm gonna miss you" I said, muffled by her shoulder.

"I'll miss you too, babe"

The flight was an early morning flight taking me all the way to the west coast. Deboarding the plane I walked through the bustling airport at midday. Following the flow of traffic I found my way to baggage claim where I saw the familiar smiling face of Noah. His tall frame was clothed in sweatpants and an oversized jacket, his style matching my own relaxed outfit.

"I missed you!" I called out as I approached him from afar. Noah opened his arms wide as I neared him. dropping my carry on to the ground as I stopped just short of him; he took one large step to close the gap between us, wrapping his arms around me, pulling me off the ground as he did so. I squealed as I felt my feet leave the floor kicking my feet back as I became eye level with the man I love.

"I missed you so much baby" Noah's voice sounded quietly in my ear. He pressed his forehead to mine as we locked eyes. I pushed forward to press my lips to his in an awfully selfish moment of PDA I would normally never be caught dead engaging in. But this moment was special; it may have only been a few days, but it was an awful few days full of pain and grief for the both of us. Being back with Noah was healing to my wounds.
