John, Paul, George, and Pete did a lot of auditioning for different record companies and they didn't get accepted. They auditioned for Emi Records and George Martin was there. They passed the audition.

On April 10th, 1962, Stuart dies of a brain hemorrhage. No one knows how he got it. People theorize that he may have been either kicked in the head, or thrown, head first, against a brick wall during an attack outside Lathom Hall, after a performance in January 1961.

Their first recording session was in Emi Studios in London on June 6th 1962.

George Martin thought Pete wasn't the best drummer.

In August, John,Paul,and George wanted to fire Pete, but they made Brian do it. After they fired Pete, they asked Ringo Starr to join the band. Ringo accepted.

The final lineup is John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

On August 18th, 1962, The Beatles performed their first official gig, featuring their new drummer, Ringo.

On October 5th 1962, The Beatles's first single came out. It was Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You. It wasn't Ringo playing the drums on both of the songs, it was Andy White. Ringo only played the tambourine and maracas. After that, Ringo was the one playing the drums on all of their songs (except for Paul playing drums on Back In The U.S.S.R in 1968).

The Beatles were exploding in England. They were becoming more popular everyday.

Their first album, Please Please Me, came out on March 11th, 1963. Their songs were hitting #1 in the charts.

Their second album, With The Beatles, came out on November 22nd 1963.

By December 31st, 1963, The Beatles released four singles, three EPs, two albums; appeared on radio 49 times and on television 35 times; and made 287 additional live appearances.

1964

On February 1st, 1964, The Beatles got their first #1 hit in America. The song I was "I Want To Hold Your Hand". Soon after that, The Beatles went on their first tour in America.

On February 9th 1964, The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. It was their first live performance. 73 Million people were watching!

On July 6th, 1964, The Beatles first film, titled "A Hard Day's Night" came out. The album, also called "A Hard Days Night" came out on June 26th, 1964.

On August 28th, 1964, Bob Dylan introduced The Beatles to pot. It influenced their songwriting and they started experimenting with drugs.

On December 4th, 1964, their 4th album "Beatles For Sale" came out.

1965

On July 29th, 1965, The Beatles's second movie, "Help!" came out. They did not enjoy filming it because they felt like extras in their own movie. The album, also titled "Help!" came out on August 6th, 1965.

On August 15th, 1965, The Beatles played at Shea Stadium. There was 55,000 people there! It was their biggest concert ever.

On December 3rd 1965, their 6th album, Rubber Soul came out.
