NOAH ALSTON
i sighed as i stared blankly out the window, watching the trees pass by. "oh come on honey, don't be so upset. you're gonna love it in mystic falls." my mom says, trying to cheer me up.
"i just don't understand why we had to leave florida. i left the only friend i had." my mom glanced at me before turning her attention back to the road.
"noah, i'm sorry. but i could tell you just weren't happy there anymore. there were just too many bad memories there." i sighed, knowing she was right. i wasn't happy in florida anymore. ever since my dad passed away, it just hasn't been the same.
"i'm sorry. i don't mean to be so upset about moving. i guess i'm just nervous about starting in a new school. i had trouble making friends in florida and i feel like i'm gonna have trouble trying to make new friends." my mom slightly smiled.
"honey, it's okay. you are a lovely individual. i'm not sure why someone wouldn't wanna be friends with you." i forced a smile. "i guess we will have to see." i replied, looking out the window again, only to see a medium sized house.
"we made it honey." my mom pulled into the driveway before putting the car in park. i unbuckled my seatbelt before getting out and looking at my new home. the house wasn't too big and it wasn't too small. it was the perfect size for just me and my mom.
i closed the car door before looking at my mom upon hearing her speak. "unfortunately the moving truck will not be here for a few hours, but for now we can take the boxes in that we were able to take." i nodded with a small smile before grabbing a box out of the car and heading towards the front door.
my mom unlocked the door, revealing a staircase off to the right. i walked in, turning on the lights. "wow, this place isn't too bad." i nodded, agreeing with my mom as i watched her place the box down.
"i'm gonna go upstairs to my room." i said. "okay honey, i'm gonna go out and get more boxes." she walked out as i walked up the stairs, turning on the lights as i made it to the top. i looked to my left and noticed the bathroom.
i looked down the small hallway and noticed my room was at the end of it. i smiled slightly before walking into it and turning on the lights. my room was the perfect size.
the walls were a light gray and the floor was hardwood. there were two windows as well. "this is even better than my room back in florida." i mumbled to my myself as i placed the box down.
i walked back out of my room before heading back down the stairs, going to help my mom. i made it to the bottom as i watched my mom come in with another box. "noah, after we are done bringing these boxes in, do you wanna run with me to the store? we need to pick up a few things for the house."
"yeah, sure mom." she smiled at me as i returned it. "there's only four boxes left out there." i nodded as i walked out of the house and to the car, grabbing another box.
"also, i heard there's a nice place we could eat at tonight if you would like. it's called the mystic grill." i nodded at my mom's words, a small smile on my face. "yeah, that sounds nice."

me and my mom walked into the mystic grill as i looked around, amazed. this place is so nice. "come on, let's go find a place to sit." i nodded, following my mom. we sat down in a booth as a waiter soon came up to us and took our drink orders.
"so, are you ready for school on monday?" i bit the inside of my cheek before responding. "i mean.. i guess. i'm just nervous. what if they don't like me?" my mom shook her head.
"don't think like that honey. and so what if some students don't like you? that's their loss. you're an amazing girl. don't let anybody tell you differently." i smiled at my mom's words as the waiter came back with our drinks, then proceeded to take our orders.
"also, if you ever need help with any of your schoolwork, just come to me. i will gladly help you with it." i nodded, a small smile forming on my face. "thank you mom." she smiled and nodded before taking a sip of her drink.
"you ready for a boyfriend?" i furrowed my eyebrows, quite shocked by what she had said. "a boyfriend? mom, we just got here. i don't know if i'm ready for a boyfriend yet." i took a sip of my drink as she responded.
"and that's okay honey. i was just asking. i can already see it now, how all the boys will be head over heels for you." i let out a small laugh. "i'm not so sure about that mom." she looked at me, confused. "and what makes you say that, noah? you are a beautiful young lady." i shook my head.
"you're just saying that because you're my mom." she sighed, putting her hand on top of mine. "i'm not just saying that because i'm your mom. i'm saying that because it's true. you are a very gorgeous girl, noah." i smiled as the waiter arrived with our food.

i walked into my room before sitting on my bed. the movers came with all of our furniture about an hour ago. i checked my phone as i read the time. 11:51 pm. i sighed before grabbing my diary and opening it to an empty page. i grabbed a pencil and started writing about my day. i started doing this after my dad passed away.
it was the only way i could express my feelings. it's not that i was afraid to talk about my feelings with my mom, but she was also having a really hard time dealing with his death. i didn't wanna make her even more upset by telling her my feelings, so i decided to write them down in my diary.
i finished writing as i closed my diary, putting it into the drawer of my nightstand. i put the pencil in there as well before turning off the lights. i got back into my bed before slowly drifting to sleep.
