This was it, my hen-do. The last night of my life before I tie the knot. I've never known why they call it tying the knot but I guess that doesn't really matter.

Lily, Alex, Kika and I were all getting ready at my place, george had vacated so I can have the apartment to myself, probably with carmen or something. Sometimes I wish that I could live the life he does, choosing who he can give himself to, but this is just my fate. To be a Russell and to be a woman means to be married off for the sake of the family name and business and I simply have to accept it, which I have. I still have these thoughts occasionally. I don't think that will ever change. My aunt seems happy at least, I can hope to be the same with oscar one day.

Once again, oscar and I are barely speaking. You're supposed to not have contact with your fiance before the wedding I think so maybe he's just playing the role really well. Every time we had spoken over the phone, either via text or call, I have been the one to initiate and now I'm tired of it. I've decided I won't give Oscar the satisfaction of my presence. I won't text or call him at all. Not until he calls me first.

"Girls I'm going on strike" I say as we are all sat on the floor of the living room, sharing some rose and one large mirror taken off the wall to all get ready together, George can put that back up when he gets home.

"Strike?" Kika, Alex and lily all turn to say to me in unison.

"You heard me, strike"

"From what?" Kika says as she turns to the mirror to continue getting ready.

"Oscar, duh what else" lily rolls her eyes before leaning towards the mirror to do her eyeliner.

"What did Oscar do again?" Alex says as she takes a sip of her wine.

"Gosh Ali do you ever read the groupchat, he only ever replies to her never texts first and never calls her, only picks up" lily says.

"At least someone listens to me," I sigh dramatically as I sip my wine before continuing "he's such an asshole over the phone but in person I'm his princess I swear he's so confusing. I know this whole marriage is because of my dad but gosh a girl wants some romance."

We all giggle a bit before continuing.

"That's not too much to ask for" Alex says but of course she would say that, Charles treats her as if she's god walking.

"Of course you would say that" Lily says sarcastically

"Don't hate on a girl for knowing her worth" Alex flicks her long hair sassily and continues getting ready.

After about an hour we were finally ready to leave the house to hit the clubs, 4 bottles in so around 1 each. The mood was very high and nothing could ruin it.
