My worst nightmare.
Duolingo.
That little shit.
I can't fucking take this anymore.
Every morning I wake up, I Duolingo.
After that, I get exhausted. I sleep again.
Then I wake up, I Duolingo.
Duolingo this, Duolingo that. Duolingo everyday, every night, every hour, every minute, every second..
"You cannot stop." the bird from Duolingo suddenly appeared before me
"F-fuck..!" I whimper as I try to move away, but I'm stuck.
"Did you take your daily Japanese lesson today?"
My heart dropped as I realized, N-no... No...! THIS CAN'T BE....!! I ALWAYS DO MY DUOLINGO! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN...?!
"It seems as though I must show you what happens when you miss your Japanese lesson. Brace yourself." the bird said and started to approach me
"NO. NO...!! NOOOOO!!"--

Shire wakes up, breathing heavily.
They hurriedly looked around, and made sure their body was still intact. It was only a dream, no, a nightmare, shire. Everything is fine.
Shire took deep breaths and calmed themselves down.
Then, they heard a knock on the door.
"Shire, you okay?" Midnight asked after knocking, "I heard a loud noise in there. Is everything alright?"
"Yeah it's fine." Shire replied as they suddenly felt a throb in the back of their head. Fuck.
It seems that Shire accidentally hit their head as they woke up. Well, that's a great start to one's day.

"Good morning, Shire!" Ria greeted as she laid down plates for them.
"Morning Ria," they replied.
At that same moment, Shire glances at Ria's phone which lit up from a notification. They see a Duolingo notification. Shire eyes widened and they almost lost their balance.
"Woah, you alright there Shire? You've been behaving weirdly since when you woke up. What's up?" Midnight said as she carried their breakfast, pancakes, to the table.
"T-that app.. what is that..?" they said as they pointed to Ria's phone
"Oh that? That's the Duolingo app. I recently stumbled upon it and it seemed interesting so I downloaded it." Ria replied
"Delete it. NOW!"
"Geez, Shire. It's just an innocent looking learning app. I just wanted to learn a new language while in vacation, you know?"
"NO... You don't understand! I've downloaded that same app and... and.....!!-"
"And?"
"And it ended up causing my nightmares! The app's mascot, the owl, is a DAMN NIGHTMARE FUEL!" Shire huffs.
"Damn." Ria said, "What happened?"
"Yeah Shire. I don't think it's that bad. I mean, I also had the same app since a few months ago. I'm at my 105th day streak." Midnight smugly announced
"Oh god... it's too late." Shire said in disbelief, "Whatever you do, do NOT forget to do your Duolingo. You CANNOT lose your streak. NEVER."
Then, there was a ding. "Speak of the devil," Midnight said.
