Chapter Two: Waiting on A Miracle

Judy POV

Dad and I walked back into town to see a large crowd of the residents at the fountain. I was confused because usually crowds don't get this big about something outside of events with Dad or me.

"Whats going on?" I asked.

"I have no idea." Dad answered.

We made our way through the crowd to see a new visitor in Halloween Town. None of us have ever seen this person before. He was a shadow demon with horns, a pointy tail, wings and red eyes and sharp teeth. Granted nothing out of the ordinary for Halloween Town, we just didn't recognize this particular person.

"Whats going on here? Oh hello!" Dad said approaching the new arrival.

"Aww..everyone you are so kind!" The visitor responded to all the compliments our people were giving him.

"I don't think we ever met before! Special greetings from Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King!" Dad said extending his hand for this new person to shake.

"Oh my gosh! I can't believe I am in the presence of the Pumpkin King himself! My name's Dakon and Im actually new here. Im moving in." Dakon explained.

"Oh how wonderful! Its always great too see our community expanding! How about we throw you a Welcome Party tonight?" Dad asked.

"Really?? I would love it! I just..hope it wouldn't be a burden on y'all." Dakon said.

"Nonsense! Its the least our community can do to make you feel more comfortable here!" Dad insisted.

"Okay! Lets do it! I must say I am quite flattered of how welcoming your community is!" Dakon said.

"So where did you come from?" I asked, slightly curious. Dakon's answer was..interesting.

"Um..wow what a question..uh..Im a rather private individual so I would prefer not to say.." Dakon admitted.

I don't know why but that response weirded me out. I..just got a few red flags about this guy. He just randomly shows up and declares he's moving in without prior notice and he's hesitant to say where he's from?

"Forgive my daughter, she is just curious that's all." Dad said.

"Oh no! Thats okay." Dakon replied.

"Where's your house?" Asked Corpse Kid.

"Not directly in town but close by. More closer to the graveyard area." Dakon explained.

Why would he move there instead of in town??? Wait isn't that closer to Oogie's lair and Lock, Shock and Barrel's treehouse then town?

I swear..Dakon started out nice but the more I learn the more red flags start going up..

"Like I said..I value my privacy and while you guys are nice and all, I kinda like being isolated and living in a more rural area of this land. But don't worry! You guys will see me in town lots!" Dakon added.

"Ok that kinda makes sense." Dad said.

"I really should get going. I still have lots of unpacking." Dakon said.

"Oh of course! It was wonderful meeting you Mr. Dakon and I hope to see you around more!" Dad replied. Dakon nodded and smiled. "Yeah. Me too."

And then he just flew away towards the gate just like that.

Look I'm not accusing him of doing anything or planning to do anything, for all I know I could just be paranoid all for nothing and this is just a huge misunderstanding. I don't know.
