It was quiet
Quiet , empty and lonely
It has gotten colder and darker
The boy has left
Meixiang bit her lower lip
Wasn't it a cruel thing to do ?
Leave him, outside
Probably nowhere to go
Probably no family he could turn to
Meixiang felt the guilt going up her throat as she swallowed the dinner's leftovers
That's it , she made up her mind
She would find him once school's over
The girl left the house to her usual way to school
A creaky steps following by hers , for a moment there
She thought it could be him
- Meixiang , could we have a talk? - a voice spoke , even so it wasn't who she hoped he could be
- Sure. How can I help you , president? - Meixiang asked, both of them proceeding to the entrance gates
- I would like to apologise, about yesterday. I did an awful thing to you , i understand if you would like to keep your distance , but I was hoping... we could get along ? - that left Meixiang in surprise , she never thought anyone would be willing to befriend her
- It's okay , I figured out you must've been forced to... you know, you're not that type of person , I knew it - she let a small giggle , which left the boy stunned
- I've never seen you smile or laugh before.. woah , I might be the first one to witness it. See , you're already smiling when you're with me , that means we would be good friends! - he exclaimed
- Yeah , sure. Even so , you're quite popular yourself , why would you befriend me , it could seriously damage your school life , are you aware?
- hmm , let's say sometimes it's better to have you around than mine so-called friends - he smiled , as they entered the classroom , which went silent the moment they did
Bet I caught you of guard , didn't I?
You probably thought he class president was a nerdy and anti-social guy , easy victim to bullies
Just like they represent them in the movies , right?
Quite the opposite actually
Let me introduce you to Asakura Jo - class president of 2-C , two years in a row
You see ,the class didn't need a nerd
Not a doubt he maintained good grades though
They needed an out -going person , who would get along well with everyone and keep them in good terms
Rumours were spreading around like the speed of light
By the end of the day meixiang had heard her name more than she ever had in her entire life
She wanted to melt into the ground
So many eyes where on her
The girl rushed to the exit
It was getting dark
She had to find him
Where could he be , where ?
Meixiang kept going around for two hours straight , yet she couldn't find the boy
It's all her fault,isn't it ?
She wouldn't forgive herself if something happens to him , just because she was selfish and inconsiderate
Just then , a familiar silhouette stood ahead of her
Could it be...
- Nicholas! - meixiang shouted , she wasn't sure , but she hoped it was the boy
- Meixiang ? what are you doing outside at this hour ? - nicho asked , as the girl ran towards him
- I found you , I found you - she said out of breath , as she felt the rock falling off her chest
Meixiang took his hand and brought him to her house , as she invited him to stay until the winter's over
The girl noticed his hesitation, however Nicholas accepted her offer
It wasn't quiet anymore
It wasn't empty and it she wasn't feeling lonely
Meixiang couldn't remember when was the last time her home was lively , the last time someone asked about her day or the last time she didn't go straight to her room and cry her eyes out
It has been a while
It was a long time ago....
