Saiki was confronted the next day.

It was actually a Saturday. He was expecting them, they wouldn't just leave it alone. Not something like this. And in this moment he was glad his parents had left before this all happened. At least they'd continue to be unaware of it and his mother wouldn't get upset at him.

"Saiki, what the hell"

"What?"

"What do you mean what?"

Maybe he shouldn't have let the idiots into his house though.

Saiki just calmly unwrapped a lollipop. He was in his mission clothes, though technically this is just how he dressed at the Merripen building. He had gone to check the 'target board'. Sometimes other teams needed help keeping an eye out for certain people and the others were happy to help. Saiki usually just let them know if a target is still in japan. Usually he would use clairvoyance but he was trying to avoid his idiots at the time.

"Ask me what you came here to ask me"

"Why do you do it?"

That question made Saiki pause. Only the psy-kickers knew why. None of them mentioned it.

It would just cause more confusion.

"Ask me a different question"

"Saiki-"

He repeated himself though louder.

"Ask me a different question, Kuboyasu"

Teruhashi spoke up after being silent for the whole way to Saiki's house.

"Why were those girls there?"

Saiki froze for a few seconds. He was mostly just debating how graphic he wanted to be. But then he realized that he didn't want to tell people every detail of another persons trauma.

It wouldn't be right to do that.

"They went missing a week prior. Their mother called a private eye who called my handlers asking for help because the police barely investigated and assumed they just left without telling her"

"So... you saved them"

"I guess"

Saiki was no hero. He knew that much about himself. But he had technically saved those girls from whatever hellhole they'd be put through next. So at least he had that going for him. Saiki still had some semblance of morality after all.

"How long have you been doing this?"

Saiki just looked at Teruhashi.

"It's been a while"

"What"

Saiki just nodded. They were not as observant as they thought they were.

"How come we never noticed"

"No clue"

"Saiki, you can't keep doing this"

"Why not?"

"You could go to jail"

"You planning on turning me in?"

"What? No!"

Saiki almost grinned. Maybe he needed to take a break. 'Saiki' and 'Kana' were starting to have more overlap then he'd like. Right now he was supposed to be stoic, rarely smiling.

Like normal.

"Then there's no problem"

"You can't live like this"
