The front door was by the stage and as I walked past I saw the curly haired man from earlier onstage at the mic. "Son! She said, have I got a little story for you?" he said. He had this deep voice that was memorizing. I bumped into a man in front of me watching him on stage.

I fell to the ground, "Hey! Watch where you're going bitch!" the man yelled at me. "Sorry." I said back getting up. I walked away listening to the curly haired man onstage.

"Your real daddy was dyin'. Sorry you didn't see him. But I'm glad we talked!" he sang with his hands in his pockets. Such an emotional song and he has his hands in his pockets. "Oh I, oh, I'm still alive. Yeah Yeah, I, oh, I'm still alive." he sang, his deep voice echoing through the bar.

I made it back to the bar and Mel was serving someone a drink. I walked behind the bar and took over for her. She sat at the bar and watched the band. "Holy shit they are amazing!" Mel said the solo for the song began. "Hell yeah! The lead singer is amazing! And I love the bassist's hat." I said handing the person their drink.

The song came to an end as I gave Mel a beer. The crowd went crazy. Me and Mel both cheered. We only cheered when the band was actually good.

There are only a handful of other times we actually cheered. Back in 1989 we cheered for this trio named Nirvana. Mel and I have worked together for about 3 years. I came here after I got out of mixology school and she had joined a couple months after me.

"Thank you everyone. All these songs will be off our upcoming album Ten." The man said. He had a different voice from when he sang. The next song began, it was more of an upbeat song. Mainly just a lot faster and less moody.

"Freeeeeeezin'. Rest his head on a pillow made of concrete." He sang fast. He put on a performance. He was jumping around and banging his head making his long hair fly everywhere. He was fuckin' amazing. They performed a couple other songs. The one I thought was the best tho was Once. It was a beautiful song.

The band came off stage all but the lead singer, he dove straight into the crowd after putting his mic up. They caught him and carried him backwards towards the bar. He was put down right next to Mel. "You were fuckin amazing!" Mel said, taking a drink of her beer. "Thank you." he said very out of breath.

I walked over to the beer in the cooler and pulled out a Heineken for him. I cracked it open and handed it to him. "Oh thanks." he said, feeling his pockets. "Oh the house. Your performance was amazing." I said as another drunk yelled at me his order. I nodded and grabbed the alcohol to make it.

"Are you sure?" the curly haired man asked me. "Yeah. Earlier you gave me a 11 dollar tip. I can cover this beer." I said, shaking the drink I was making. "Thanks." he said, smiling at me. I nodded as I poured the drunk his drink. Another drunk came over but instead of yelling threw up all over a barstool.

She started crying and fell to the ground. "Mel, can you go get Darius while I get this lady a cab?" I said walking around the bar. Mel nodded and ran to the back. "I can get her in a cab. You've got a lot of people coming for drinks." The curly haired man said getting up. "Thanks Curly hair." I said as Darius came over with his cleaning.

"She threw up." I said to him as the curly haired man helped her up and walked her outside. I walked over to the phone to call a cab as Mel came behind the bar to help. I called the cab and gave the curly haired man a thumbs up for the cab was here. He nodded and took her outside.

I took over for Mel, "Good night!" Mel laughed walking past the curly haired guy. "Night!" I yelled back, flipping her off. The bar had emptied out for the most part. The curly haired guy sat down and took a drink of his beer that was still there. "I'm Eddie." He said holding his hand out to me.

I took his hand with a smile, "Ramona." I said He smiled and let go of my hand. I started to wipe up all the spilled liquid that sat on the bar top, "Your band is amazing. One of the best I've seen. Most bands that are here are lame." I said throwing my now wet towel under the bar into the basket full of them.

"Thanks," he said, smiling at me. He had a big smile. "Your guys song Once is amazing. And the song Black." I said making a patron shot for myself. "Once is about a serial killer." Eddie said with a smile. I almost choked on my shot as he said that. He started laughing hard, "Really?" I said after catching my breath.

He nodded as he continued to laugh. I started laughing as I poured two shots. "Here on me." I said giving him a shot. He took it and we raised them.
