The Mayhem Resumes...
"Everyone follow me, we're going to the meeting room," the high priestess said. The group followed The High Priestess into the temple, still partially dumbfounded that the High Priestess was Sam and Max's Client, specifically Klonoa and his friends. "Gee Sam, this is the second time a religious group was part of a case," Max said. "What was the first time?' Klonoa asked Max. "Well you see, it all started when this alien space gorilla named "Skunkape" invaded the city and-" Lolo interrupted Max with a sigh, "save the stories for later."
Soon after, Leorina and Tat finally caught up to the High Priestess. When Leorina saw that Sam and Max were amongst the group, she face palmed. "You already called them, great," Leorina sighed. "We're doomed," Tat said. Sam and Max saw Leorina and... smiled? "Hey Sam, look, it's Leorina!" Max said. "We haven't seen you sense your first year of priestess training, how have you been?" Sam said. Klonoa, Lolo, and Popka were surprised, "EH?!" they yelled out. Leorina sighed "Yes, the last time Sam and Max were in Lunatea, I was still a priestess in training." "Sam and Max were in Lunatea before?" Popka said. "Yeah, what a gruesome case that was." Sam said. "I was traumatized!" Max said happily." "It caused me to become a sky pirate," Leorina said while visibly annoyed.
"Wait, so you gave up a life of worshiping a benevolent goddess and helping out the local village over becoming a thief of the skies because of us?" Sam said in a puzzled voice. "Yes, especially you Max!" Leorina said in an angry tone while pointing at Max. Max then pulls out a photo out of nowhere and shows it to Leorina, "but you looked so happy in this photo with us." Leorina was in her old priestess clothing in the photo, she is standing between Sam and Max, she is looking viable shaken with tears in her eyes while Sam and Max look happy. "Where'd you get that?" Tat asked. "It's none of your damn business" Max barked at Tat. "Also you're one to talk while you're prancing around with your hole out for everyone to see!"
Tat took a bit to process what Max said, and when she did, she was visibly both angry and flustered. "Well you're one to also talk while you're LITERALLY NAKED!" Tat yelled. "Ahem, your ignoring someone." Max said while pointing at Popka. "Hey leave Popka out of this!" Lolo yelled. Suddenly, lighting boomed outside while The High Priestess' eyes glowed white and she yelled, "EVERYONE CUT IT OUT, WE DON'T WANT A REPEAT OF WHAT HAPPENED OUTSIDE!" Everyone felt embarrassed and calmed down. "Now where were we going again?" Max pondered. "The meeting room knucklehead," Sam said.
Everyone finally got to the meeting room. "Everyone sit down," the high priestess said. "I CALL DIBS ON THE SWIVEL CHAIR!" Max yelled while jumping on the swivel chair in the room, causing it to spin. Lolo was about to ask The High Priestess something (probably something like "Make that demon dressed as a bunny get off the swivel chair!") but The High Priestess tells her, "shhhh, let Max have his fun" Everyone else sat down. After a bit, Klonoa asked The High Priestess, "Ok first of all, why did you call these two mockeries of policemen instead of asking me to stop whatever's causing trouble?" "I can still hear the screams of the bandits that Max almost killed," Lolo shuddered. "They what?!" The high priestess looked concerned. "Yeah, they were a bunch of pushovers!" Max said happily. The High Priestess sighed, "That's not important right now, what is important however is these, incidents that have been happening lately all over Lunatea, strange incidents."
"Incidents?" Popka asked. "That's the reason why you called us?" Sam said, confused. "And not because you wanted to indoctrinate us in your cult and if we refused you would sacrifice us by burning us alive in a straw version of your malevolent goddess?" Max said. The High Priestess sighed and punched the bridge of her albeit very tiny nose, "First of all, Max, no this is not a cult and we don't sacrifice people, and second of all, how did you two forget the reason why I called you?" "Well I kinda forgot that while we were fighting your friends outside" Sam said embarrassingly. "Ok let's conti-" The High Priestess was interrupted by Max, "waitwaitwait, you didn't say anything about your goddess not being evil, so is she evil?" Max said happily. "Well Claire used to be until she was purged of it, now she is a benevolent NOT EVIL goddess, unlike you." Lolo said while sounding angry at Max's remark. "Shut up, Meg," Max said.
