I had decided last night after Freddy and I's date that I was going to talk to Anne today like a normal person. I got changed into sweatpants and a AC/DC shirt and finished getting ready before I walked to school.
I met up with Freddy once I got to the front of the school and we walked through the metal detectors. "Hey you never told me how you managed to get that pocket knife through here in freshman year."
"Still not telling you Freddy." Freddy rolled his eyes and we walked to our first class together.
I was next to Freddy in line and the texture of the food looked disgusting. "Bon appetit." Anne popped up beside me, "Hi!" Freddy jumped from the sudden sound and I laughed a bit at him. "Oh! Hi." "Hi Anne"
"Um, you wanna show me where you guys were sitting when it happened?" We got out of line with our trays. "Oh sure! Follow me." Freddy took lead and I smiled to Anne as we both walked behind Freds.
"So, basically, it's a table down at the end." "We mostly always sit there" I whispered to Anne.
"So I was sitting, yeah... Basically, I was sitting right here, and he was sitting right...there." Freddy was talking about Superman four years ago and I sat on Freddy's left side while Anne sat on his right, where superman sat.
"Here?"
"yeah"
I saw Freddy's phone was ringing so I grabbed it and handed it to him. "It's Billy" I told him and he nodded.
"Oh, sorry. Overbearing brother." Anne nodded her head and agreed, "I have one of those, a sister. Always has to know where I am."
"Right."
Freddy's phone started going off again with Billy texting him. "I feel that, uh clearly"
"Always thinks she knows better, too."
"Even when it's been factually proven otherwise?"
"Exactly. And it's not that I don't love her."
"No, of course. It'd just be nice not to have someone..."
"Constantly breathing down your neck."
"From the moment you wake up!"
"'Cause I'm not a kid anymore."
"No! I'm a month younger, one month exactly."
"And do we have to do every single thing together?"
"No!" They finished their back and forth conversation and I ended up humming a song from Frozen, Love is an open door. Because they were finishing each other's sentences.
They were laughing and then Billy started walking towards our table. "Oh! Billy! What... What a coinkidink! Um... I was just telling my friend Anne what a great guy you are." Freddy nervously laughed and I stopped humming when Anne glanced at me.
