THE FIGHT PURSUED, FANDRAL REMAINED AT ASTRID'S SIDE FIGHTING BESIDE HER. He allowed the queen to fight for herself but continued to protect her, with Volstagg's help.

"It's as if they resent being imprisoned," Fandral yelled out to his two friends with a laugh.

"There's no pleasing some creatures!" Volgstagg agreed.

Astrid sliced off another prisoners arm before turning to the two warriors. "Where is your friend? Hogun?" She called out.

"Thor let him stay with his people in Vanaheim for the time being!" Volgstagg answered.

Fandral huffed. "Wish he didn't now."

Astrid was shoved into one of last remaining cells. "Ah, hello, Astrid. Finally have the time to see me?" She heard behind her. She whipped her head around after kicking away a prisoner.

"Loki," Astrid breathed out a brief smile. "What is going on?!"

Loki sat there in his cell, flicking through a book in his lap on his bed pushed against the side of the golden veil of the cell. "Lovely of you to visit me, My Queen." He ignored her question.

"Loki."

"Astrid."

"What happened?" She sternly asked.

Loki shrugged. "I had nothing to do with it. Truly. Hand on heart. Some creature that was imprisoned here broke everyone free but myself," Loki chuckled. "I don't blame him."

Astrid furrowed her brow. "Really? Which one was it?"

Loki smiled, still gazing down at his book mindlessly. "Oh, he's gone. He went up the stairs to the left," he chuckled.

The blonde's eyes widened. "Oh, Nords," she whispered. "Thor! Go!" She shouted over the commotion, fending off more prisoners with Fandral's help.

Fandral cut the head off the creature, turning to Astrid with a tired smile. Astrid returned it, nodding at him as a sign of gratitude. She turned back to Loki. "Thank you for telling me. I hope you're telling the truth."

She saw Loki's eyes cloud over with confusion. "Why?"

Fandral continued to protect the queen as she had her back turned. "Frigga and Jane are in that wing of the palace."

THOR RUSHED TO THE WEST WING WHERE HE KNEW FRIGGA AND JANE RESIDED. He hurried, desperate to intervene any enemy willing to hurt with mother and his lover.

But he was too late.

He watched as two men attacked Frigga. One, large and rocky with horns on his head held her place by looping a huge, crushing arm around her neck. The other, a pale elf with a long blonde braid, stood before her with a sword. A sword that he had pierced through Frigga's torso.

Thor screamed as he watched his mother fall to the ground after they let her go. He rushed in, shooting a bolt of lightning into the small elf's face, scorching it instantly. The two murderers escape, jumping off the ledge and onto their ship. Their ship began to turn invisible before Thor threw his hammer at it.

But once again, he was too late. They were gone.

He rushed back into the room to find his father staring at Frigga's lifeless body. Odin approached her, kneeling done and cradling her in his arms. Jane comes out from her hiding place where Frigga tucked her away and gasped. Both her and Thor watched sorrowfully as Odin silently wept for Frigga.

The Allmother was dead.

THE SAME NIGHT ODING HELD A FUNERAL FOR FRIGGA. As dusk was settling in the sky, her body laid in a boat. Her body was dressed in one of her finest dresses along with her armour and sword. Her pale hands gently laid upon the handle let it was just another reminder on how she would never clutch it again. The boat was decorated with her favourite flowers and candles. Over her beautiful face was a sheer white veil to signify her passing and purity.

Odin pushed the boat into the sea, watching as she grew smaller and smaller. A guard fired a flaming arrow into the sky, landing on Frigga's casket causing her to light up in a envelope of fire. An old Norse tradition.

Astrid watched with silent tears streaming down her face. Frigga was like a second mother to her. She thought how hard it would be if she ever experienced losing Christa. Hence, why she felt so much empathy for Thor. But even more for Loki who did not even know she had died until a guard had informed him.

She could only imagine how he handled the news. He and Frigga were extremely close. She had taught him magic, she had been there for him when Odin had not. She was there to calm him down. She was there for him.

Everyone watched as Odin banged his sceptre on the ground causing Frigga's boat to hover over the waterfall edge. A blue glowing mist emerged from the boat and flew up to the night sky. Then the boat fell from its spot in the sky, crashing down over the waterfall and into space.

Astrid bowed her head in respect to the Allmother as her spirit ascended into space. The Asgardians continued to grieve until Odin dismissed everyone.

"Allfather, is there anything I can do for you?" Astrid asked Odin, helping him off his platform.

Odin shook his head. "No, no, you have done enough for this realm. You should relax back in your own."

Astrid furrowed her brows in contemplation. "I understand, Allfather, but I would not be able to relax knowing my friends and allies are in danger."

Odin sighed. "I envy Ymir having such a devoted, selfless daughter." Odin smiled. "I'll have someone arrange a room for you, you may stay as long as like."

"Thank you, Allfather." Astrid bowed before walking into the castle. Deciding that it would take a while for her room to be ready, she decided to go to the dungeons.
