There was a hexagon of salt in the middle of the compound. Ivy stood at the top, between Elijah and Rebekah with Freya standing on the other side of her sister and Davina between her husband and Elijah. They interlocked hands, the witches harnessing energy of the vampires as they prepared themselves. "None of us can let go until the spell is complete and no matter what happens, no one can step inside." Freya reminded. Klaus, Jace and Izzy were keeping an eye on the trial while Hayley and Keelin had taken Hope along with Marcel all while Magnus and Alec prepared for the next one. With a nod, they closed their eyes.

The air picked up around Jace Wayland as the spell went on. It became hard to stay upright and still with the force of the wind. Still, he leaned himself against a table, activating a rune that would help him get through this. The blond's eyes didn't leave Ivy's figure, knowing it was a risky ritual that she was performing at the moment and he'd rather hurt himself than let something happen to her. It was the main reason that Jace, Klaus and Izzy were there, so that if anyone tried to interrupt, they wouldn't succeed.

There were whispers in the air, something that Jace couldn't decipher. "We need to stop them." Izzy shouted once the whispers reached her ears and Jace glanced worriedly at the six in the circle. Their shouts were loud and even the Originals were bent at angles, their energy draining. "We can't." Klaus' words were firm but his eyes held the same worry the shadowhunters' did. Davina's nose started bleeding, trailing down her nose and onto her mouth but she didn't stop. Neither did Freya. "Fuck this." Izzy went to step forward, try something when Klaus wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her back. With her 5'1" figure struggling against Klaus' 6'2" it was almost a comical sight. The Original had the raven pressed up against his chest and mildly levitating in the air.

"Let me go." Izzy thrashed.

"The more you struggle, the tighter I hold. Get comfy darling." Izzy tried a few more but when she realised it wouldn't work, she went still in his arms "Good girl." Klaus mockingly praised her and in return, the girl glared daggers at him.

The air suddenly slowed, Freya and Davina's nose was bleeding, leaving a trail of blood down their mouth, chin and disappearing in the hollow of their necks while some of it dripped to the floor. "That shouldn't have happened. Why did that happen?" Davina yelled, her hands tangling in her hair as she looked between Freya and her boyfriend who was on the floor, catching his breath. "What's wrong?" Klaus asked but no one answered, those involved in the ritual looking at each other.  "Oh someone speak up for lord's sake." The hybrid yelled this time and there was a gasp, Ivy's eyes suddenly flying open. Her legs stumbled but before she could fall, Jace was at her side in an instant, his arm around her shoulders and his hand holding hers, supporting her weight. "Ivy, baby, what's wrong?" Her eyes were looking into some far distance and seemed almost hollow. "The spell's done but.."

"But what baby?"

"We were supposed to see the ancestors as we performed the spell. That's how these ancient spells work." Freya spoke "When you perform a spell this powerful, you do it in front of  those who gave you powers as it's a plea to them to give you the protection. But this time, we didn't see the ancestors." Klaus' eyebrows furrowed and Jace stroked Ivy's hair, helping the brunette come back from wherever she had went "What did you guys see then?" Izzy asked what everyone had been thinking.

"Every type of enemy I can think of. And all of them were there to kill me." Ivy answered and those who weren't a part of the ritual were shocked. "What- what do you mean?" Jace asked, his grip on the girl tightening.

"Demons from the shadowhunter world, vampires, werewolves and even humans we had once killed were there." Elijah spoke, looking shaken. "They all had weapons, types we'd never seen before and as Freya and Davina held the court, we had to kill them. All of them. Again."

"I do not see how this means anything." Klaus yelled, suddenly throwing a chair onto the wall. "Niklaus!" Elijah pleaded and the tone of his voice made his brothers look over at him worriedly as they slowly neared him "Elijah." Klaus crouched down, keeping his hand on the elder's shoulder "What is it brother?" Elijah's eyes watered and even though he didn't say anything, his expression made something in Klaus click. "So I can assume this was our mother's doing?" A fake chirpy tone, dark eyes and a murderous expression, Niklaus Mikaelson looked ready to set the world on fire for whatever had happened to Elijah and whatever had hurt him in the alternate universe. It didnt matter in the moment that there was a daughter and a soulmate to protect, no. All that mattered to him was that his brother who had been by his side for more than a thousand years was okay. And clearly, seeing how Elijah's eyes were dazed, Klaus knew his brother wasn't. "Now what?" Izzy questioned, her tone worried "We need to perform these rituals. There's no telling what is approaching us." Ivy spoke, her tone rushed. "Magnus. Let's go." She commanded.
"You're too weak for another ritual right now." Magnus spoke, slowly approaching Ivy. "I do not care." She almost yelled, causing Alec to step forward as well. "I-i i'm sorry." Her words stumbled as realisation hit her. "Just please, prepare." And then she was running, away from the people and into her room. There was stunned silence, everyone staring at each other. "Well that was eventful."

"Shut up Kol."

Alec was the one who had decided to get Ivy for the ritual and he had found her, clutching Hope close to her chest as she rocked back and forth, not so that Hope could fall asleep so that she herself could calm down "V.." Alec trailed off, hi shoulders sagging as his twin stared up at him, her eyes blurry. "Is it time?" She asked and Alec nodded and watched as Ivy stood up and placed Hope in her cot before kissing her forehead. When she turned around, she looked ready to cry again. "Come here sweetheart." He opened his arms, Ivy throwing herself at him and crying silently, clutching onto his shirt tightly.

"There was so much blood Alec. So much. I have never seen that much red ever and they all were so cruel but they've never done anything to me but I had to kill them to protect others and Oh my god it was so much blood Alec." She peered up at him through her lashes "You would hate me if you saw me like that." His hand instantly went upto her nape, holding it in a firm grip as Alec leaned down slightly, coming eye level with Ivy "I could never hate you Ivy. What you did out there, who you killed, that was something you did for those around you. They are okay because you took action Ivy. Not all of them may have been culprits but then, they were evil. They would've gotten back to us if you hadn't done that Ivy. Would you have been okay with that?" She shook her head, eyes slightly darkening.

"You did not do anything wrong. I or no one else could ever hate you Ivy."

The twins stood there for another minute, in each other's embrace before Ivy pulled away and wiped her face "Let's turn me into a real bad bitch." Her voice was cracking, her eyes puffy and her hair a bird's nest but to Alec, his twin looked beautiful then. Like she always had.

A/N: I'm in college now and I've stopped watching shadowhunters and I do not have time to write a lot now😭😭 should I just wrap it all up in one chapter?
