"Good news today, folks! It seems our well-known and beloved hero is back in business after her sudden disappearance for almost a month. New York City is safe once again, and justice shall be served."
"Isn't she so cool?!" The excited voice of a blonde male rang out, bombarding his (h.colour) haired companion with his enthusiasm. "Jeez, Charlie, if you keep talking about her one more time, I'll have no choice but to conclude that you've got a crush on her," she shot back, her voice laced with irritation as she sent him a cold glare.
Over the past two years, (Y.name) has become more open, more approachable. And that's how she ended up with Charlie-this lovestruck fool of a human-as her friend, along with a few others who aren't around right now. It's nice. And it would've never happened if it weren't for Miles. She missed him...
"You're just jealous that a girl like her managed to win the heart of a guy like me. I am irresistible after all, aren't I?" Charlie continued, puffing out his chest as if he truly believed it.
"Oh, please. If anything, she's pretty unlucky to have accidentally won the heart of a weirdo like you. Besides, you barely know her, and she barely knows you!" she retorted, her words cutting like ice.
"I guess it was love at first sig-" Charlie's words were abruptly cut off by a screech that echoed down the street-a sound that sent chills through the air. A lizard-like creature had appeared out of nowhere, its massive form menacingly towering over the fleeing civilians.
"No way..." Charlie whispered, his eyes wide with disbelief as he fumbled to pull out his phone. Before she could stop him, he bolted towards the danger, his phone held high.
"CHARLIE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!!" (Y.name) screamed, panic flaring in her voice.
"Recording him so Obsidian can see and come save the day! This is my chance to meet her!!!" he yelled back, as if that were the most logical thing in the world.
(Y.name) clutched her head in frustration before darting into an empty alleyway, her thoughts racing.
Meanwhile, Charlie found himself struggling to navigate through the panicked crowd. The mass of fleeing people made it nearly impossible for him to move. At one point, he was knocked over, hitting the pavement hard. Dazed, he looked around, realizing with horror that his phone was missing. He cursed under his breath, frantically searching for it, oblivious to the real danger that loomed overhead.
The giant lizard, perched on a nearby building, tore out a massive chunk of concrete, letting it fall. The boulder plummeted toward Charlie, who was still scouring the ground for his phone. Just as it was about to crush him, a web shot out, snagging the back of his shirt, yanking him out of harm's way.
He turned, his breath catching in his throat as he stared at the figure before him. "O-Obsidian!" he stammered, eyes wide with awe.
She gave him a firm nod before swinging up into the building where the lizard had disappeared, her movements fluid and precise. Charlie, ever the reckless one, scrambled to follow, keeping his distance but not enough to be noticed.
Inside, the scene was one of utter chaos. Rubble and debris were scattered across the floor, the aftermath of the creature's rampage. She landed lightly, her senses on high alert.
"Hey, Dr. Connors!!" she called out, her voice echoing through the empty space. Silence answered her.
"Huh, Gwen told me calling them out normally works," she muttered to herself, puzzled.
