It was silent in the small street of Private Drive, as it was still quite early in the morning. The trees swayed slightly as a small wind rode past. Corvus, like everyday, had gotten up an hour earlier than his parents to make breakfast before they got up to go to work. Not that he minded, they often forgot to make themselves something for lunch too, so Corvus spent the first 15 minutes making them lunch for work, after he put the lunches in the fridge he started to make some breakfast. Corvus, who had only just turned eleven, could only cook simple things, so he started a pot of coffee, turned the burner on and started to whisk some eggs for eggs and toast.

After he had finished the eggs, Corvus wiped his hands, he then looked at the time and decided to get his parents up for breakfast. So he walked out of the kitchen, down the hall and up the stairs, the silver key on his necklace swaying slightly. Corvus knocked his parents bedroom door twice before entering. His violet eyes scanned the room slightly till they landed on his parents sleeping forms. He closed his eyes and sighed quietly. Corvus then walked over to his fathers side and tapped him on the shoulder till he stirred slightly.

"Dad get up, I made eggs. You can make your own toast right?"

Corvus's father, in response, rolled over until his back was facing his son's face. Corvus just sighed again. Corvus glanced at his mom. He walked over until he was standing in front of her. He whispered lightly

"Mom, get up. You have an hour to eat and get dressed for work. I made eggs but if you want toast I can make that too"

Corvus's Mother opened her eyes slightly, she looked at her son and gave a small smile and a nod. Corvus, satisfied with her response, returned down stairs to make his mom some toast.

After he put the toast in the toaster he glanced outside through the window. He wondered if Harry was up yet. He thought again, 'it's his cousin's birthday today right? Poor Harry, I might bake him some cookies to cheer him up when he gets back from Ms. Figg's house today.' He heard the toast pop up and went back to the kitchen to butter it. When he finished he placed it on his mothers plate just as she had gotten down the stairs and tiredly walked to the kitchen as she yawned and rubbed an eye. Corvus looked at her slightly.

"Coffee mom?" he held an empty mug up as a gesture of saying. His mother paused and looked up slightly. She smiled and nodded at him.

"You want the usual right?" He turned around to the coffee maker and poured a cup of black coffee.

"Oh, yes please. Thank you Corvus." His mother yawned again. Corvus nodded slightly and added his mothers preferred amount of cream and sugar, stirred it slightly and put it on the table by his mothers plate. His mother looked up from her plate, half her eggs already eaten and sent him a small thank you. She blew on it slightly to cool it down and took a small sip as she closed her eyes in bliss.

"How do you do it?" she asked him quietly. He tilted his head as he hummed slightly in question.

"How do you make the perfect coffee every morning?" His mother took another sip of coffee and hummed in satisfaction. He sent her a smile of amusement but didn't answer.

Thunk

Corvus looked up at the ceiling and laughed quietly

"Looks like dads up"

Thundering steps sounded from the stairs, Corvus's father appeared in the doorway of the hall. He looked around the kitchen and then at Corvus.

"I smelled Coffee"

Corvus smiled and handed him a cup of coffee he made earlier for his father. His father would never admit it but he hated hot coffee.

"Thanks Corv"
