Harry and the Dursleys had arrived back at their house two days after Corvus had gotten his school supplies. When he had asked Harry how his 'trip' went, all he got was a shrug. He had then explained to Harry that he would not be in town for the school year because his parents had decided to send him to a boarding school in Scotland. Which was not completely a lie but Professor Flitwick had promised not to tell anyone. Corvus guessed it didn't really matter considering that Harry had commented that he too, was going to a boarding school in Scotland. Corvus had a slight suspicion that the school Harry was talking about was the same as the one he was talking about. Not that it mattered or anything, that just meant that they would most likely see each other more often than not.
After Harry and Corvus had finished with their long and strange conversation on what owl was better, Corvus had headed home to get some more reading done. Even if Corvus didn't really like school or the way they teach children he was excited to learn about the world he never knew existed. He had already read, memorized and summarized half of them in his notes. He couldn't help it! All of the books he had read were almost never as exciting and interesting as his new magic ones. So far he had read, Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling, One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore, Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander, and a book that wasn't on the list that seemed interesting.
It talked about something called Legilimency and another called Occlumency. Apparently Magic people could read minds when trained, Corvus felt like this was an invasion of privacy and decided that it would be the first thing he started learning. So every night Corvus would meditate and continued to keep a calm mind throughout the day. Though really, Corvus never really had a hard time staying calm. However, the real problem came when he realized he couldn't really test his 'mind shields'. Though he guessed that it would come together in due time.
One thing that had also changed was his new owl, Seethe. Despite the weird name she was rather normal. Though, the only person that said so was Corvus. It was normal for an owl to be loyal to their owner. It was normal for an owl to nip at you till you ate a good portion or made sure you went to bed at a decent hour. It was completely normal for an owl to scratch people if they came too close or got too touchy. In fact, the only other person the owl ever let near was strangely enough, Harry. Neither of them had a clue as to why. Even then, However, the owl was reluctant to let anyone even get close to Corvus. Which was just fine for now, considering Corvus never really had friends to begin with. Not that he minded of course, kids his age were often fickle and immature. Corvus had heard of the horrors of school, how children picked their noses and wiped it on anything close by, pencil shavings got everywhere, and apparently, some children didn't even wash their hands after using the restroom. Horrifying, no thank you. Mind you Corvus isn't a germaphobe but really, everyone should know not to pick their nose and put it everywhere. What an absolute nightmare.
After the strange monologue Corvus decided to reread One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore. He was halfway done with the book when Seethe decided it was time for bed and started nipping at his hair. He mumbled incoherently about the strange function of Gillyweed before he got ready for bed and fell asleep.

Almost a month after, it was September 1st, and Corvus was ready to go to his first ever school. With hidden excitement Corvus walked up to where the platform should be. Barely waiting for his parents, Corvus dragged them up to the wall somewhere between platform 9 and 10. Ignoring their protests he continued through the wall. Corvus looked around, assessing the platform with keen eyes. His parents were speechless and looking around in wonder. Not that Corvus wasn't, he was just hiding it better. Seethe nipped his ear to bring him to attention. It was then he realized he should probably get on the train.
After His parents teary goodbyes he went up to find an empty compartment. After he found one he put his trunk and Seethes cage (that she refused to get into) in the compartment he pulled out the book he found on Legilimency and Occlumency and started to read.
Sooner than he would have liked, his reading was interrupted by someone carrying a spider.
"You mind if me and two others sit here for a bit? We think someone might be snitching on us."
"Snitch about what?" Corvus looked at him curiously as he replied.
"We aren't supposed to bring other pets besides the normal ones"
Corvus just shrugged as he replied, "as long as you don't bother Seethe I don't mind."
It was only then that the spider boy notest the owl somehow glaring at him. The boy sat down cautiously, far away from the owl and slightly pulled his spider closer to his chest. Corvus, noticing his wariness, asked casually "What's your name then Spider Boy?" It took him a second but when he did look at Corvus he grinned warily "Lee Jordan at your service feather boy."
Corvus's lips pulled up to a half smile "Corvus Ledger, nice to meet you Spider Boy"
question for you, should I leave Hermione in the the story? should Corvus flip the story from where it should be or should things stay the same with slight changes? what house do you think Corvus will be in/ should be in? (I have a idea but I would like some thoughts to)
