Percy and Jasmine walked towards the arcade, laughing and chatting. The arcade was a lively place, with colorful flashing lights, buzzing sounds, and a combination of fragrances from different snacks. They walked up to the token counter and purchased a couple of tokens each.
Jasmine suggested, "Let's try the racing game first!" and Percy agreed. They headed to the racing game kiosks and started playing against each other. The game was intense, with the loud sound making their hearts race. Despite Jasmine's best efforts, Percy won by a mere .1 second.
Jasmine pouted, "You cheated!" and Percy laughed, teasingly bumping her shoulder with his.
"You know I didn't cheat," Percy replied. "You're just not as good as me at racing games."
Jasmine rolled her eyes and took his hand, leading him to the next game. They played game after game, challenging each other and having a great time. As they played, Jasmine couldn't help but notice how focused Percy was, his eyes locked on the screen, his fingers moving quickly.
They tried out different games, from the shooting games to the dancing games, with each one feeling like a new adventure. They made their way through the different sections of the arcade, winning prizes and laughing until their sides hurt.
After a few hours of gaming, they both realized that they were getting hungry. Percy suggested they grab burgers from a diner they spotted on their way to the arcade, and Jasmine wholeheartedly agreed.
Sitting across from each other, both savoring their burgers, Jasmine felt a sense of contentment. She looked at Percy and felt her heart swell with affection.
"Thanks, Percy. This has been an amazing day," Jasmine said, smiling at him.
Percy grinned back, "I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a great time too."
As they finished their meal and walked back to Sally's apartment, Jasmine felt a mix of emotions. On the one hand, she was happy and content with her time with Percy, but on the other hand, she felt sad knowing that they would be parting ways soon.
As Percy walked her to her car, Jasmine lingered for a few extra seconds, staring into his eyes, wondering if he felt the same connection she did. Percy reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Goodnight Jasmine. Drive safe," Percy said, looking at her with a soft smile.
Jasmine felt her cheeks redden, and she nodded before getting into her car and driving off. As she drove home, she couldn't shake the feeling that something between them had changed, that there was something more there, and she couldn't wait to find out what that meant.
Percy watches as Jasmine drives off and he sees as her car go down the streets making Percy smile with relief that she made down the street safely.
Percy smiled," What a day." He smiled with happiness that he go a chance to spend time with a long time school friend.
He walked back to mom 's apartment, lost in thought.
Sally noticed Percy's subdued mood as he entered the apartment. "Is everything okay, Percy?" she asked, concerned.
Percy sighed. "I had a great time with Jasmine today, mom, but it just feels weird when I am around her I can be me unlike I was around Chase."
When ever he was with Chase he was the so called Hero of Olympus not Percy Jackson but when he was with Jazmine he is Percy Jackson.
Sally nodded understandingly. "Sometimes it takes a special person to bring out our true selves," she said, smiling softly.
Percy smiled back. "Yeah, exactly. I feel like I can be myself around her, and it's an amazing feeling."
Sally patted his shoulder reassuringly. "You should tell her how you feel, Percy. Life is too short to hold back on your feelings."
Percy nodded, feeling a sense of determination. "You're right, Sally. I think I need to tell her how I feel."
With his mom 's words of wisdom echoing in his mind, Percy went to his room and he closed the door behind him.
Percy takes off his shirt and goes to his bed then he lays down on his bed. He stares up at the ceiling, lost in thought. He knew that he had to tell Jasmine how he felt, but he was nervous. He wasn't sure how she felt about him, and he didn't want to risk losing their friendship if she didn't feel the same.
But as he lay there, his thoughts turned to all the moments he had shared with Jasmine that day. The way she laughed at his jokes, the way she looked at him when they played games together. He realized that he had been holding back his feelings for too long.
Taking a deep breath, Percy sat up and reached for his phone. He dialed Jasmine's number, his heart racing as he waited for her to answer.
"Hey, Percy!" Jasmine answered, sounding excited.
"Hey, Jasmine," Percy said, his voice a little shaky. "I was just thinking about today and how much fun I had with you. I know we've been friends for a long time, but I have to tell you something."
Jasmine's voice softened. "What is it, Percy? You can tell me anything."
Percy took a deep breath. "I have feelings for you, Jasmine. More than just friendship. I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I couldn't keep it to myself anymore."
There was a long pause on the other end of the line, and Percy felt his heart sink. Maybe he had been wrong to take this risk.
But then Jasmine spoke. "Percy, I had no idea you felt that way. But I have to admit, I have feelings for you too. I was just too scared to tell you."
Percy felt a weight lift off his shoulders, and he couldn't help but smile. "Really? That's amazing, Jasmine."
They talked for a while longer, both feeling relieved and happy. From that moment on, Percy and Jasmine's friendship took on a new level of meaning. They started dating, going on more adventures together, and sharing their hopes and dreams.
Neither of them knew where their relationship would go, but they both knew that they had taken the risk of being honest about their feelings, and it was one of the best decisions they ever made.
