CHAPTER THREE: spidey
senses !

─ I RAN down the sidewalk with miles and nico next to me, I was panicking badly due to everything that was happening. I kept scrolling through my contacts- wondering if I should call my mom but I couldn't tell her what was happening.

Miles was too busy running to notice the oncoming taxi coming his way, "Miles!" I shouted worriedly as I chased after him, I saw him fly into the air and weirdly enough- land on his feet?

Both I and Nico stand there in shock before glancing at one another, I just knew we had to figure out where those spiders went, I was becoming more anxious and worried.

Nico runs forward and cups miles cheek with a worried look. "Are you okay?" he asks in a whisper while checking miles for any injuries.

Miles gazed into his eyes before giving him a small smile. "I'm alive aren't I? I mean- yeah, I'm good."

Nico punches his shoulder which makes miles wince, then he grabs my hand and pulls miles from out of the street. "We have to go, guys." he says.

NIGHT THE TRIO SEARCHES
FOR ANSWERS . . .

We all sat inside the train, I was deciding whether or not to text my mom but I just knew that would make things worse. she's a busy woman..I don't wanna bother her with my stupid totally normal troubles.

Nico was currently standing up, his body leaning against a train pole as he held onto it, he seemed lost in thought. I took a look at his teeth before nudging miles, "have you noticed anything odd about nico's teeth?" I ask miles in a whisper.

Miles turns to me before nodding and whispering back, "Yeah. you seen it too? makes him look scary dude, I'm not even joking."

I then turned to Nico with a curious look and crossed my arms. "hey..nico, smile real quick." I say.

Nico turns around to look at me before smiling with a tilt of his head, when I got a better look I could see his upper teeth were getting longer like canine's which surprised me, miles eyes widened slightly.

"Dude, that's sick!" both me and miles say in sync.

Before Nico could say anything the train comes to a stop, I don't say anything as I stepped out, miles following right after.

Nico placed his phone in his pocket, staring down at the ground while inhaling then exhaling. "Okay, we're being crazy, right guys? we're just being crazy." he says as if trying to reassure himself.

I just avoided his gaze while shrugging slightly, I felt as though I was being no help at all but I had to find out myself too. find out if I was being crazy as well..

"I don't know, man." Miles replies as he stares down the train tunnel. Nico and I follow his gaze, that's maybe where the spiders went after we slapped them.

I turned on my phone's flashlight as I made my way down the tunnel, miles and nico following while having on their flashlights too.

Making our way down the steps I glanced around, just making sure to check our surroundings. Nico held his flashlight close as he was hearing things, a little mouse ran past his foot, he watched as it scattered into a little hole and hid away.

Then he turned his attention back forward while walking in between me and miles. he was searching frantically for that specific spider.

But that's when miles eyes land on the three spiders in front of him. "Guys..look." miles whispers as he kneels down in front of them.

My eyes landed on the dark red spider in the distance, then they widened. that was the same exact spider that bit me! there's no possible way to explain this, is there?

Nico stared down at the green neon spider, seeing the sharp teeth on it and a number which was on it that said '42' but what did that mean? he didn't quite understand nor care for that matter.

"This is nothing. I mean, like, look how boring they are." I say as I touched the dark red spider.

But when I touched it they all started glitching which made me recoil backwards as I was startled by what had just happened, my lips trembled slightly.

I suddenly felt my vision multiply somehow and I could hear voices, like mines or miles, including nico's. this didn't make sense..I was too stressed to process any of this.

Miles points his flashlight ahead. right, I keep forgetting we have to continue our way down for whatever reason.

I then felt this weird headache getting worse as I clutched the side of my head, my ears were ringing too and I felt dizzy for whatever reason.

Nico suddenly stands still, he stands by miles whose clutching his head too. I noticed that Nico was oddly..quiet? did he see something?

suddenly strands of his hair started rising, by an invisible force or something- specifically the glowing green strands of his hair.

Nico could hear his own heart beat as his pupils started glowing a green hue once more as the other eye was glowing a grey hue. he suddenly pauses, "both of you. get down, now." he says.

"What?" Miles replied confusedly and glanced at me, I sent him a small shrug as I turned to Nico, thinking he was crazy.

all of a sudden some type of sense went off and I quickly wrapped my arms around miles and nico, tackling them to the ground to make sure they wouldn't get injured.

Nico let out a pained grunt while miles groaned in pain, rubbing the side of his face from the tackle. at least I pushed them out the way in time from the large object that was thrown through the glass.

Nico felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, he quickly picked it up and saw it was a message from someone he was familiar with.

UNKNOWN:
hurry up man, they
waitin'.

NICO:
I'm sorry I don't think I'll be able to make it tonight, but tomorrow I'll
have everything ready.

UNKNOWN:
I hope you know that you
really playing with your life here, nico.
tonight I expected you but I'll let you off the hook for now.

NICO:
thank you man, I
appreciate it.

UNKNOWN:
Yo, I also need my money by
tomorrow, too. got it? be up early
around 7:30.

NICO:
Alright..i'll try.

UNKNOWN:
I'm not joking. you know what's
gonna happen right? so fix it.

Nico stared down at the text before standing up and letting out a sigh, he hadn't even noticed the actual spider-man fighting some type of..green goblin or whatever?

Oh jeez, what did you get yourself into Nico?
