CHAPTER TEN:
A HOME OF ONE !

— I RAN out of the collapsing building with the help of hobie, he gently patted me on my back before turning to gaze down at the rocks that were falling.

My hands grasped into the railing as I looked down to see the rocks descending further and further, nico had a worried look on his face mostly for the civilians and instead of the constant issues going on with him.

"We'll clear the path, you slow down that building." Miles said as he webbed off the railing, I followed him and nico put back on his mask before using his web and doing the same.

"I'll do it, but not because you told me to." Hobie replies while following us, I gaze at a couple of civilians and make sure they're okay before turning my attention back to the main problem.

Nico uses his web to wrap around the falling debris and the neon that was glowing was flickering lightly as he strained to keep it from falling further down to the ground.

I heard something snap meaning the webs weren't working and eventually caused something to break, I quickly ran towards the child that was in the middle of the street and placed him gently onto a safer surface.

Nico notices a girl nearly falling off the ledge due to the collapsing rocks beneath her feet, he sees another child which was a boy about to fall too.

he had to make a choice, right? but no there didn't have to be a choice at all. he could do both! that would make it so much easier.

he feels his spider senses go off which makes him use his web quickly to latch onto the girl that was falling, not noticing the boy eventually falling off the ledge.

what sounds like a loud string goes off in his head and it kept going over and over again like the sound of a guitar being played on repeat, it continued until he had about enough and focused his attention back on catching the boy safely.

Nico slides across the bridge and quickly catches the boy using his neon web, pulling him closer to him until finally he was in his arms.

breathing out a sigh of relief nico placed them both somewhere safe before dashing down the bridge searching for the rest of the spider trio.

Suddenly out of nowhere he felt a pain in his chest and clutched onto it tightly, kneeling down a bit and staggering to get back up. "what the hell is happening to me?" he says with a hint of fear in his voice.

Nico shakes his head and presses a small button on his watch, he sees the percentage battery going low to around 60%, so he'd have no point in communicating with his mom due to being in another universe.

he makes his way onto the bridge, when I turn around I smiled when I saw him, giving him a thumbs up and he weakly did the same.

"Man-like, miles!" Hobie says while wrapping his arms around miles neck and shaking him lightly, "my guy!"

Everyone was cheering in the distance and clapping, I high five miles and nico while doing our secret fist bump.

"So, what do you think?" Miles asks in a whisper towards me which makes me turn towards him.

I shrug a little, a grin on my lips. "aye, what I always think..you're amazing and just a lil crazy." I let out an airy chuckle on the last part of my sentence.
