Two months later

Princess Amber

I woke up to see my husband peacefully sleeping. Today was the day—our coronation day was finally here.

Initially, we would have had the coronation soon but decided to move it to mid-August.

The reason for this is because this is the month Enchancia is celebrating its 75 years of celebration.

What's also a bonus is that Desmond and I have officially celebrated two years of matrimony this month.

Everything has been so terrific with him that I couldn't be happier. I have my husband and my charming son, Edmond.

He's almost two, and I have to think of something to celebrate his birthday in big, as my son deserves the best.

If I'm being honest, I will do my best because as soon as he grows up, I know he won't like all the extraness, as Desmond calls it.

As I turned to look at my husband, I saw him staring at me and smiling as my eyes widened, surprised.

"Good morning," he said, smiling as I smiled at him.

"Good morning; how long have you been awake for Des?" I asked him as he smiled.

"I just woke up," he said, placing his hand on my cheek as I smiled.

"And you thought staring at your wife was a good idea?" I said, raising my eyebrow as he chuckled.

"I can't help it if my wife is attractive," he said as I felt myself blush.

Even though we have been married for quite some time, Desmond still had that effect on me and made me blush.

"I couldn't sleep," I said as he nodded before giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"I know, your eye-bags give it away," he said, slightly chuckling as my eyes widened.

"What?" I asked as I quickly sat up and was about to go to my mirror when he grabbed my hand and stopped me.

"Calm down, Amber dear, I'm playing," he said as I sighed in relief as I playfully hit him.

"It's not funny, Des; I haven't felt this tired since Edmond was a newborn," I said as he smiled and nodded.

"I remember; he was quite a fussy baby," he said as I nodded.

"And he gets that from you," he said as I raised my eyebrows and shook my head.

"Me? No, no, my dear husband, I was a calm baby," I said, smiling as he rolled his eyes and smiled.

"Are you sure about that?" He asked as I thought for a moment.

Honestly, I have no idea; I think I was. My father didn't say anything about being difficult, but then again, he wasn't always in charge of us.

When it wasn't him taking care of us, it was the maids or Baileywick.

"At least I think so," I said as he smiled.

"See," he said as I shook my head.

"We'll ask my Dad about that," I said as he nodded.

"Because, according to my aunt, I was a very calming baby; I rarely cried," he said as he sighed.

"Alright then, maybe it's my genetics, but just to be sure, we'll ask," I said as he smiled and nodded.

"Either way, you always look amazing, Amber, eye bags or no eye bags," he said as I smiled as he took my lips before parting.

"Now, why don't you tell me why you couldn't sleep," he said as I sighed.
