Melting My Cold Heart

Chapter 1

I woke up with that nightmare again. It has already been 9 years. Since that accident, I haven't been close to my father. I was close with my brother though since he's the one who's been comforting me. 

Last night I overheard my father and brother talking about me. My father decided to send me to Korea back again. Of course my brother didn't agree with him. But in the end, I will be going back to Korea. 

Alone.

I guess my father wanted to get rid of me. I can't blame him though. I caused mom's death. He's going to send me in a dormitory school.

I went downstairs to eat my breakfast. I saw dad and oppa sitting in the dining room. Oppa was looking down.  There was an awkward silence.

Then father suddenly said " Steff.... we need to talk."

"About what?" I responded even though I already knew the reason.

"About where you will be studying and staying until you finish your college life."

I was quite shocked. I didn't expect it to be that long. " You're going to send me to Korea, right?"

"Yes.I'll explain to you the details."

"No. There's no need for that. Just tell me when to go to Korea."

Oppa then stood up and stared at me and said " Steff! Aren't you gonna disagree or disapprove to his idea?"

I looked away and said " There's nothing I can do if that's dad's will."

Oppa stormed off and left the room.  I could tell. He must be quite disappointed by now.

" Dad, when will I leave?"

" Ahh yes. It will be on January 14. The day after tomorrow. Here's your plane tickets", He said to me as he handed me the ticket.

I looked at the ticket. I guess I'll be leaving at 9:00 AM.

" When you get there, a lady in black will pick you up in the airport. She will guide you and teach you how to be a normal korean. Don't worry she knows how to speak in english. Go to your room now. Just pack whatever seems important to you. You don't need to pack all your clothes."

" Yes, dad"

I went immediately to my room. I closed the door and sighed. I looked at mom's picture for a while then proceeded to pack my things. Suddenly, there was a knock in the door. "Yes, come in" The door opened to reveal it was only brother.

" Steff, are you sure about this?" He asked as he looked at me worriedly.

I smiled at him and said " Are you really that worried at me? I'm turning 16 soon. I can handle myself now." 

He patted my head and said " I know. I'm sorry I couln't convince dad enough to make you stay"

"I'm sure he must have a good reason."

He hugged me immedietly. I hugged him too  and said "Oppa, thanks for being with me all this time." He grin and said "No problem" :D

Is this the whole new begining of her life? What awaits her has already been destined?
